John Tudor and Eddie Colquhoun lived in Todwick. Many footballers from the 1970s lived in Dronfield
Woody and badger or Helmsley not for long though as you said a lot of them went to Dronfield, think it was called green dragon pub where they went drinking
And who can forget warnocks involvement in Todwick

Be surprised if JOC commuted from Liverpool.
I know some players travel from east midlands a bit such as Nottingham or Derby. Liverpool seems a bit too far when your in training at 730am.

😁 I'm afraid my regular sightings are in passing during the commute or school run.

Often on Rutland Road as they make their way to Shirecliffe but regularly see Baldock and Berge car sharing between Ranmoor and Broomhill.

Maybe they all live in a commune with Wilder.

If they have to be there for 7.30 then plenty must pay regular fines 😆

I pass a few of the players on their way to Shirecliffe 3 or 4 mornings a week and it's an hour or so after that.

Glyn Hodges house name was Nutmugs.
True story.

Sure did

Loved the Red Lion they did
Gone and forgotten..... the pub that is.
Like some of the other pubs in Dronfield which now have "lovely" stone built, 4 bed exec homes where they used to stand. Hearty Oak and Talbot already gone, possibly the Miners and the 3 Tuns will join them soon.

JOC, Duffy and Lunny all use to car share together i believe. use to see instagram stories/pictures of them together so i have always assumed they all came from the Liverpool area together.

Often used to see them, going home after the Saturday games, JOC's girlfriend was driving.

Yes, Badger moved to Dronfield late in his Blades career and took over the Midland pub in 1982, changed things there and re-named it as The Old Sidings

Since the dawn of social media and podcasts I've always been amazed how many players commute long distances to play for their clubs and go to training. I guess with how disposable players are to club it's understandable a lot of them are reluctant to buy a house in a new area if they are going to move on a few months later.

Just thought I'd see if we could map out where our squad lives - feel free to amend the list below !

Wes Foderingham -
Adam Davies -
George Baldock - Sheffield
Enda Stevens - Sheffield
Jack O'Connell - Liverpool ?
Chris Basham - County Durham?
John Egan - Sheffield
Jack Robinson -
Ben Davies - Preston
Jayden Bogle -
Rhys Norrington Davies - Sheffield
Fleck - Rotherham
Berge - Sheffield
Norwood -
Osborn - Nottingham
Hourihane -
MGW - Wolverhampton?
Ndiaye -Sheffield
Brewster -
McBurnie - Leeds

Not Gosport.

Hill Head.

pommpey
Probably ,my mate (his cousin) lived in Lee on solent but we just called it all Gosport , it was on a hill you could see it from miles away. I think he took over his parents house and moved them down the road if my memory serves me. He was a twat anyway , ironically Alan Ball was also present and was an absolute diamond of a bloke.

Higher league footballers aren’t like normals. They can rock up in their Bentley on a morning. Book into a posh hotel on a whim (perhaps not in Rhyl), and have their hangers-on sort out new clothes every time they spill a Peroni.

Well Currie lived in Dronfield was always in the hyde Park pub and then down to the Chippy opposite the Blue Stoops

I spoke with AB when my son was mascot at a PFC v SUFC match at Fratton. Totally lovely feller, warm, friendly, never up-himself and recounted the TC and him ball sitting episode with great humour.

Claridge is, as you say, an ubercunt. Hill Head is on the far side of Lee-on-the-Solent and very 'footballer', especially over toward Brownwich and the bird sanctuary. Crouch owned one of the bigger houses there (but hardly stayed in it)

He actually brought the ball sitting up when I was introduced as a Blade ,talked football for well over and hour and never mentioned 1966 , bloody great bloke but that voice took some getting used to.

Thought enda lived at halfway, often seen in Tony's chippy at mosborough after game's

Longs chippy. One night after returning from a reserves match at Bramall Lane, my dad parked his car outside the chippie, got in the queue while I waited outside looking through the window and then all of a sudden I was picked up by John Hope who then put me on his shoulders, he was with Tony Currie who was amused with Hope's antics. There were envious faces in the queue and my dad was surprised with what had happened!
