No that would be because he was injured with a broken foot for large parts and has been out for the majority of this season also Derek

How many Goals did sharp score in the 2 years in the prem ?

Why do you dislike Sharp so much? I'm commenting on McBurnie, not Sharp. Start a Billy thread if you want to talk about him.

However............

2019/20:

McB - 6 goals in 2118 minutes = a goal every 353 minutes
Sharp - 3 goals in 1052 minutes = a goal every 350.67 minutes

2020/21

McB - 1 goals in 1316 minutes = a goal every 1316 minutes
Sharp - 3 goals in 730 minutes = a goal every 243.33 minutes

To the untrained eye, ( me that is), McBurnie just seems to lope around the pitch, miss contrôle the ball, and fall down, appealing to the ref for a foul, eg Huddersfield second half. On thé plus side last night, laid some good passes off, and his height was useful defending corners. Seems a bit one paced .

He's like Andy Gray but with his socks rolled down, not as good at heading and can't score penalties. Gray also scored a lot more goals with 25 goals in 58 Championship appearances.

Andy Gray was a free transfer from Bradford, McBurnie will probably be the same but the other way at the end of his deal if he carries on.
 
I have defended McBurnie in the past but the only point I can raise on his behalf is that Wilder always used his height and nuisance value at set pieces and in defensive duties, when his time should be spent in the opposition box.
His defensive duties seem to have carried over from Wilders days. Now we play with 3 centre backs and we have 5 to choose from, it should release him for more striker duties mostly.
 
One good season at Swansea and we foolishly "spunked" £17m on him or whatever it was.

I'd love to see him come good and last night was a perfect opportunity to do that against a crap Hull team but it just didn't happen. I'll back up the opinions that he can't seem to strike a ball, his legs are like spaghetti, either completely stiff or limp and all over the place - neither of which are conducive to striking a football with any sort of power.

He got himself into positions to score, I'll give him that, but the difference between winning and losing, staying in the team or not, people thinking you're good or bad is putting the ball in the net when you get the chance. He didn't do that despite having a few decent opportunities and is something we've lacked from anyone other than Billy (who has missed some sitters himself) where we lack ruthlessness in front of goal.

He's ok as a defensive centre forward. Throw him on to help at set pieces, maybe hold the ball a bit. Get you a goal? Not likely.

I'd rather blood Jebbo. He's shown on at least 9 occasions this season at only one level below that he knows where the goal is. That's 9 more than McBurnie this season in the league.

Good question and honest answer is i don't know.

I think we need to find out just how good / ready Jebbo is because we do need more options in my view

At this point McBurnie is more useful as a defender than he is a striker.

No not at all. I'm just pointing out something.

Ndiaye as skilful as he is, should score a lot more. He gets himself into some great scoring positions where his xG is probably quite high. Nobody questions these missed chances because he's "one of our own". Same will happen with Jebbison, if he misses the chances McBurnie misses, he'll get applauded with encouragement - why? What's the difference? They're all professional footballers (attackers) who should be scoring those chances.
 
Not really got another other options. Not sold on Jebbo being up to starting in Billeh’s absence.

So quite similar then up until the last few months when mcburnie has been injured and playing abit part ten mins here and there am I correct ?

I don't hate Sharp I'm just saying Mcburnie isn't as bad as you say and sharp isnt as good as you say , im merely contrasting the opinion you have towards Sharp and Mcburnie when as you have pointed out they have quite similar records

I suppose it is a similar record if you are completely unable to comprehend figures. 1 goal every 243 mins is a lot better than 1 goal every 1316 minutes.

This season:

McB - 0 Goals in 630 mins or (1 goal in 764 mins including the cup)

Sharp - 11 goals in 2015 mins - a goal every 183 minutes (or 12 goals in 2082 mins - a goal per 174 mins including the cup)

Don't make it about Sharp v McBurnie, Sharp wins hands down in pretty much every way.
 
Apart from the obvious - that McB can't kick a ball properly, can't head a ball properly, spends most of his time trying to goad his marker into fouling him and, if that doesn't work, fouls his marker and tries to make it look as if it's the other way around. Apart from all that, he never, ever makes the runs across defenders or into the box that decent strikers make. It's ok saying that the service to him was poor, that's maybe because it's hard to find him with a decent ball when he's just lolloping about on his heels or playing tiggy tug-shirt with a defender.

Case in point - that equaliser that Sharp scored at Birmingham would never, ever have happened with McB in the role, because he just doesn't have the nous or the wherewithal to make those sorts of runs across defenders. He's punching way above his weight in the Championship and a half decent career at a club like Bradford is probably the best he can hope for once his contract here runs out.

Yes Derek if you want to compare a player who is injured with a player that has been fully fit all season and fairplay to Bill fittest 38 year old in the championship

I'd love to know what the remit was which resulted in us signing him.

"We need a target man, Mitch"
"What about McBurnie?"
"Key it into the statsbomb thing, tell us what it says"
"It says 'just because he's over 6 foot doesn't mean he's a target man you fucking plum'".

If he wanted a shithouse he should have just got Madine for about 3m.

I'm still amazed we managed to pay top dollar when we didn't appear to be bidding against anyone but then again that seemed to apply to quite a few of our signings.

Worth mentioning when you hear Maupay mentioned that we'd already blown 14m in fees plus wages on two duds Robinson and Freeman that he didn't know how to use. Imagine you had the finds of those two and add in McBurnie plus his wages. Don't tell me we couldn't afford Maupay then.

Top scorer in a a team that finished 9th in the premier league says otherwise

Scoring 31 goals across a season and a half in the championship for barnsley and swansea also says otherewise

No !
We simply criticise any player if we think it appropriate, but don’t start or contribute to a campaign of dislike / hate.
Similarly we should be able to compliment players when they play well.

You might wanna check what’s been going on for the past 2 weeks then
 

The FACTS are you have convinced yourself by reiterating it a few hundred times on here that there is a footballer still in there based on Swansea and Barnsley stats, and the more you crusade the more you are believing yourself, we accept there is a few of you - who cling onto this, and your loyalty is in some ways admirable.

But what JB II says is nearer the truth-

MCB Cannot

Shoot at all- his shot is tame at best
Run
Leap
Head towards goal
Close down

MCB Can

Head well defensively
Fall on the floor like a big dope
Be very late in the tackle
Stupidly throw opposition to the floor
Generally act like a total prick

AS I see it thems the FACTS..
