Decent point

It should have been a penalty. It should have been disallowed as Ward was either fouled or in an offside position impeding Wes depending on which way people look at it. No way should it have stood though
He got shoved into an offside position, it should have been a penalty really.

I need this thread, to help challenge how I see it, the result. It's like a thread of messages to convince me that it wasn't that bad after all.

Currently feeling flat as a fart, feeling like we failed to show up, to boss midfield, to take the game to them, to play our way, to claim ground on another playoff rival.

Chinese takeaway and some Brewdog later on, see if that'll perk me up!
Might not perk you up, but your farts will be less flat

The way I saw it their keeper played fantastically well and was a major factor in them keeping a clean sheet. He made some great saves.
We had several decent goal bound efforts either blocked or saved.
Their only threats were the long ball over the top trying to out-run our defence, and height at set pieces.

A small aside, Baldock only attempted 2 crosses with his left peg. Both ok and no worse than his usual right peg crosses from the other flank using his right.
He should back himself more to cross from the left if he's going to be a regular there.

Like I said…. The penalty comes before the offside/ impediment so that’s what should have been given but certainly not the goal
Or maybe the ref should have blown for obstruction before Georgie threw him to one side…?
Really there's so much pushing and shoving all the time we’d be forever taking penalties..best to save pens for the obviously shit tackles.

Surprised no-one's mentioned the disallowed goal. I think we were fortunate there. Thought we were very flat in first half but better in second. No idea how Fleck's effort stayed out. Overall a fair-ish result that could have gone either way. Away end was very flat compared to the Birmingham game, particularly in the first half. Does less drinking time really make such a big difference?
Queuing to get in for what seemed like hours in the rain & missing the start didn't hep did it ? Pathetic from udders

Funny how when there’s jostling in the penalty area it’s only ever the attacking teams players that fall to the ground with there arms outstretched appealing to the ref when there still on the floor

Or maybe you could just turn up a little bit earlier and walk straight in like I did.

I don't see how any ground is supposed to cope with a huge influx of bodies all arriving 10 minutes or less before kick off.

Edit: I'm speaking from personal experience having missed the kick offs at Blackburn and Preston. Yesterday I abandoned my mates at Dewsbury and caught an earlier train than them. Needless to say, they missed the kick off again 😂

Yep I'd have snatched your hand off this time last week for 4 points from WBA and Hudds.

A better sign for me is that we're picking up points when not playing that well which wasn't happening earlier in the season.

Stood in the bloody cold and rain with your fingers like icicles trying to hold onto your 2 pint plastic pot isn’t the best way I’ve enjoyed a pre match pint though that’s for sure

Decent point. They were a lot better than I expected and can see why there unbeaten at home since November.
If that was under Slav we’d have lost 3-0.

Hopefully it has given Ndiaye, Norwood and Hourihane a rest to be able to go again Tuesday. As well as getting some minutes into MGW
They were at home and played one up front, we have our own issues but wouldn’t want to watch them week in week out.

That’s what I thought,
Penalty or offside but not a goal.
There player on the floor interfering with play in the most obvious way possible.

I never buy beer in the ground.

Pub - game - pub for me every time (except night games when I have a train to catch and the second pub has to be sacrificed in the cause of getting home)

Correct - but technically he is offside and interfering with the goal keeper when the header comes in.

Baldock got away with pulling him down which is what the officials missed - but he WAS offside.

Linesman stood on the corner flag after it went in, instead of running back to the centre line - it was never going to be given whatever the reason.

For me the linesman probably would have spoken to the ref and said he was offside and left it to the ref to ultimately decide.

UTB

It never seems to work either… except for Stevie Gerard where it worked every time..

That linesman should have had a clear view of Baldock doing something,he didn't see him do anything apparently.

that was a good point with a rotated team, in tough match. both sides will relieved they didnt lose, but think they couldve won
