3rd from bottom in the League and I think Nosworthy can help them go right to the bottom.

Shouldn't this be.......??

How the guy has managed to get a professional contract is beyond me. He is mind blowingly bad. A joke of a player. That he was one of our highest earners last season and significantly contributed to our downfall adds insult to injury. Possibly the worst player I have ever seen in a Blades shirt. Get your money on Watford going down.

Have you ever considered, just for a minute, that better judges than you, me and all the other expert judges on here have given him a contract because they consider him worth one (i.e. he was better than all others available for the price at the time).
By far not the worst player I've seen for us in my 51 years watching United, prone to gaffes now and again and maybe mistakenly over confident in his ability, but at times a highly capable defender. We just associate him with an extremely bad season.
He's playing in the Championship and we are in Division1 - maybe a clue in there somewhere for you Olle?

i seem to remember collins getting a similar rap from sections of our so called supporters and has proven more than good enough for us this season.
nos played badly at times last season but tell me one player that played well all last season, he was definately not the best defender we ever had but by no means was he the worst ive seen playing at the lane.

ARE YOU REAL??!!
Did you really just mention Nosworthy being "highly capable"? The man who was made from 50 pence pieces? The bomb scare? And you even make a sarcastic comment at the end about him being in the championship??!!!! Hold on - you're not his agent are you?

Actually, I think there's some truth in what LSF says - in so much he's by far from the worse player we've seen. He played, and contributed to a really poor side. He had ideas beyond his abilities and was prone to error as a result - but I'd rate him as an average player having a nightmare. I've seen plenty of wank players having nightmares with us.

Geez. There we go again. Defending rubbish. Oh Noz was not that bad. Just playing in a poor side. Give me a break. This whole 'Lee Harvey Oswald' thing does not hold any water with me. I am absolutely positive that Watford scouts will be making the decision on peformances for Sunderland 4/5 years ago, rather than any games for us.

I am amazed that people watched this guy last season and still defend him. He is an average defender at best, but suffers from lapses of concentration that cost his teams big time. Prone to errors andf just purely embarassing with the ball at his feet. A time bomb waiting to go off. He significantly contributed to our downfall last season.

I am completely bewildered that he has another contract, never mind one in the division above us.

I started watching United in the early 90's and I am not sure if I can name a worse player. Based on his performances last season I would have him in my all time worse United team and really cannot think of a defender as bad as he was last season.

Yep, I'm real ok mate, I was the last time looked anyway :-)
The current Watford manager knows enough about him to think he's 'highly capable' anyway, so maybe he's not real too eh?

I missed my sarcastic bit though? Spotted yours though - 50 pence pieces, bomb scares - hilarious! :-)

Olle, how the f*ck can you be 'absolutely positive' that Watford scouts are basing decisions on performances from 4 or 5 years ago? Laughable!
And who's this Lee Harvey Oswald bloke?

No one in the right mind would go anywhere near Nosworthy based on his performances for United last term. The vast majority of United-ites would agree with that. (Other than yourself) I would be amazed if there is a single Sheffield United fan that would put Nosworthy and highly capable in the same sentance. Oswald was the fall guy. It seems you think that Nyron Nosworthy was too.

Olle - suggesting he isn't the worst player to play for United isn't defending him. All that real ale is rotting you from inside out fella. Cure yourself with some Stella.

I am genuinely struggling to think of a player who played week in week out and was as bad as Nosworthy. Adding his wages into the equation I think, pound for pound, in living memory the worst player to have represented Sheffield United F.C

10 seconds of thought - Axel Smeats, Andy Barnsley, Mark Blount, Andy Leaning.........

And they were wank, period. Not just during a spell in a piss poor side.

Don't get me wrong - he was truly awful for us. I just could see that there was an average 2nd division player in there, lost is a sea of shiteness.

I'm suggesting, against forum rules, that like with most other things there's a spectrum in between black and white.

These may all be bad but, I'm talking pound for pound. What Nos earnt compared to how he 'performed' over a sustained period makes him top of my list. I don't think any of those you mentioned were on high wages respective to their era, nor did they make anywhere near the amount of appearances that Nos did.

Well I'd agree with that - but you have laid another spec on top of where we started. Given that, I'd have thrown Evans into the mix.
