He gets some right stick and tonight was another example of other clubs fans giving it to him. Maybe it's because he reacts to their insults and gives it back to them if he scores. I don't think he ever riles them first, so what the hells up with them?

Cos he did fuckall all match but sticks one in irritating f***** for away fans

Did the Posh fans give him stick? Apart from the drum player, I hardly heard a peep out of them.
Yes, clearly audible on the Securley feed. So gutted the 2nd didn't happen, so he could give it to em properly. Posh fans gone down in my views after tonight.

Felt a bit for Bill today ,most of the away end singing Mcburnies song ,when there was only really Billy who he could replace ,then he bangs one in. Legend.
Agreed. Imagine if Billy hadn’t scored since December 2020…

He's scored against most teams and he's far too easily wound up and reacts which just encourages fans to have a pop. Needs to concentrate on his game and not arguing with away fans. It will do him no favours.

Yeah some 14 year old posh fans on my train home, playing the shithouse song they were singing as it was recorded on some social media, to be fair they said it was out of order

I believe it's called 'envy.'

Rubbish, it's partly what makes him the player he is, I love oppo fans hating him.

He was asked about it on the interview done after the game and his forehead properly wrinkled up so he obviously heard something untoward and said it was nice to score and give a bit back. No idea what they were singing tho

I assume it was that reprehensible Sex Offender song that fans have latched onto recently (our fans sing it about Barry Bannan I've been told).

The alternative doesn't bear thinking about.

I didn't hear the Barry Bannan song from the Blades fans tonight, thank fuck, although I didn't see any fighting amongst ourselves either and apparently that did happen, so I might not be a reliable witness.

I've never actually heard the chant, just seen it alluded to on here, although I don't get to as many away games as I'd like and I assume it's more common at those.

And ever time he goes near a touchline at least once a game some cretin shouts out something about his son that died, it must grind you down a bit,

The Wycombe v MK Dons game was held up for 30mins because MK were singing it at Akinfenwa as he was warming up and he marched over and took them to task on it.

Ended with the ref involved, messages on the tannoy and even MK’s Twitter feed asking their own fans to stop singing it.

I wish it ended with the perpetrator walking down a dark alley way with Akinfenwa waiting.

Billy did what he needed to do, today.

That's why he winds up opposition fans, like today, because their forwards are fuckin wank........

It does baffle me we sing about McBurnie, when Sharp scores and gives it to there fans we don’t get behind him. Everyone knows what they will have been saying.

Don't agree with this at all. The only time he reacts to the abuse he receives is after he's scored, which is perfectly justified IMO, and even then he doesn't really do any more than put his finger to his mouth and tell them to be quiet. Fucking brilliant. Peterborough fans were apparently singing that disgusting song about him that Derby started, hence his reaction when he scored.
