I flagged this as a problem after the Colchester game and most replies were along the lines of "don't moan, we're creating lots of chances". Fast forward a few games and everyone seems to be in agreement that our finishing is a problem but we've actually moved beyond that because we're not creating any decent chances any more. The two "clearances off the line" on Saturday were tame efforts and Ched's thunderbolt at the end was the only other noteworthy attempt I can remember (and that only came about because he'd run out of other options). Whilst the score flattered Charlton, they did a good job of shutting our midfield down (Macdonald was truly awful) and others will have taken note of that, so how are things going to improve? Wider squad - possible Tonne or McAllister; new signings - Beattie is a different class to our existing players but I can't believe that he's anything close to fit; returnees - let's all hope that Monty is the answer, regardless of what you think about his wider shortcomings. The team is looking much weaker without him.

I agree with what you're getting at but Cresswell's header was a decent chance.

Creswell's header was so weak and ill directed that the goalie could have gone berry picking and still saved it.

Yeah, like it was so week the keeper held onto it?

I saw him drop it then Ched took the number 47 bus from Pond Street to London Road, jogged down to the Lane and let the keeper pick it up before he got there.
Feckin waster.

Of all the nonsense posted on here, that takes some beating.

It wasn't a great header obviously and, believe me the sight or mention of Creswell as a footballer makes me physically sick, but you really have this one totally wrong.

Top stuff clapper

Cheers. It's coming to somat when I have to stand up for Cresswell a bit.

At least Swansea got b........oh

Tell you what Raul, I bet you their fans are fuming, all this passing nonsense up against the giants of Stoke, only one outcome is possible.

United's performances this year remind me of Swansea alot - all that passing, no real end product - the only difference, and this is a minor point, being that we are 6th in 3rd tier and they are mid-table Premier League at the moment. It really would be daft to go for a passing style, filling your side with pacey footballers - it doesn't work.
