Why did Novak go out of his way to taunt the Kop when he scored their first goal?
It's not like he's got any "previous" with us, I doubt if he's even played against us before.
He's not played for Wednesday or any other local clubs we have a big rivalry with.
It seemed a bit odd that he would risk a booking and get himself booed for the rest of the match.
What's his problem?

I think it might be because he's a twat.

Risk a booking? with that ref there was no way that fool would have booked him for over celebrating.

It was over the top though. I do feel we MUST get a keeper in before the weekend though.

He was probably excited at the fact he'd just opened the scoring against the top team in the division at their own ground and brought everybody back down to earth.

Yet another great report DB. Don't think Evans is fit enough yet to start but hope I'am wrong, and simo causing panic in team well in collins who (sorry) but still don't rate,
so thats both of them panicing and goofing up. But we should bounce back Saturday!

I couldnt go last night. Checked out the BBc stats and we had more shots on target and off target. They also commited 18 fouls to our 5.

But scored 3 to our 0
Thanks for that mate my radio went off at 2-0 and I wondered why our goal difference had gone down by three goals I've been on to the football association,FIFA and uefa in a state of apoclepsy until you're helpful and educational post made me realise my error and left me rather red-faced once again
Thanks for clearing that up

In all 8 games this season so far, there has been one constant: the abysmal standard of refereeing at this level. In the premiership they were corrupt, in the championship they were shite, in division three they are simply incompetent.

i think he was so astonished to have scored such an easy goal he simply lost his bearings for a moment.. he looked terrified when he saw the entire kop stand up as one

Cressy back to last years dirge, truly inept and only stayed on the pitch (I hope!) because Porter was just as bad, if not worse. Evans looked twice the player these two did and thats saying something.

Always felt his contribution isn't phenomenal when he's not scoring, and he's now gone five league games without a goal. Assume Evans will start on Saturday and hopefully this will help Cresswell too.

Great report Deadbat (as always). Thought their physicality was one of the contributing factors, but as you say with the ref failing to penalise them why didn't we start playing them at their own game?

Everyone seemed to have an off day on the same day which is odd. Usually have one or two but you can't substitute the whole team.

It's Simmo's lack of ability to get over his mistakes that I think is a big problem. We all make mistakes but when he does one he goes to pieces (sure the Kop berating him doesn't help, but that's already a well documented and discussed issue). Not sure that he'll ever sort that as most at the Lane have (not surprisingly) lost patience with him and I think he needs some time away on loan at the very least, but ideally something more permanent. Saying that, finding a replacement won't be that easy either.

I think that is harsh Bergen. He generaly puts a shift in and offers a lot as the first line of defence. He is not a great target man (does not win enough headers and can be muscled off the ball) and I think he sometimes seems to be innefective when he does not score. However it was his good work that set up Porter at Yeovil and his bravery to stick his head in where it hurts that elad to Ched's equaliser against Scunny. I think the problem is more that him and Porter are very similar. I'd stick with Cressy and play Ched. they showed the markings of a good partnership under Blackwell a couple of years ago and I think they could work well together at this level.

I actually thought we dominated the 2nd half and there were some excellent passing moves, which were warmly applauded by the crowd. I think DB is a bit harsh, but I do feel his reports are more critical of late. We missed Monty and McDonald in centre mid and Flynn was anonymous for me on the right wing - ML, who I don't rate, delivered some quality crosses after coming on. Ched also impressed (relative to Porter) and he must start.

We drastically need a new keeper though - Simmo is awful.

I kind of agree; we were far superior the second half and had some good moves but the game was effectively over and would have taken something miraculous for us to come back against a strong side. They had done the hard work and were quite content to soak things up and put men behind the ball. We had a few chances (Evans and Lowton) but hardly battered them and it all seemed a bit nice on the eye with no end product. Huddersfield were direct/physical but got the result. Somwhere in between would of course be perfect!

The game was lost due to a 15-20 minutes spell where we simply could not defend. Huddersfield were full of tall/physical players and we could not cope with them as they pressed/harried and took us off our stride in the first half. Second half we were better but we were 3-0 down and it was too late.

I do feel we have been winning games with ineffectual performances from the wingers and forwards (save a few decent games from Cresswell) and if our spine that has done so well (Maguire, collins, Doyle etc) had bad games we may be in trouble and so Tuesday proved.

Fair play. Excellent reports though DB, much appreciated!

twas a mere setback , we knew thered be some ( Harry McGuire excluded)
Wilson had said he was desperate to strengthen further, felt sorry for the new recruit who was blameless, Huddersfield have been together a while now and gone 33 unbeaten due to the resilience built up by knowing each other.
We are the work in progress still , the starts still good and a win this weekend puts us back on an even keel, 0-3 was very flattering for terriers , their own fans admitted as much, but we will lose maybe 5-8 games this season , even Brighton lost at hillsboro early on, so lets get over it and lets move on
