Wayne...back on 12/02/01 after his successful loan spell to Newcastle.

Looked a decent bet to become an International regular but never really went on to fulfil his potential.

:D

Any chance we can have an infraction for JB please?

I've reported the post anyway.

Too bloody right I have. People are on edge on TDD and posts like these can lead to anger and stress.

(Of course I haven't)

ive reported every one involved with this thread for being silly

While I am not sure about reporting, I agree about Houso's sentiment. It isn't like this post is funny, seeing it has been done in the past about 236 times in similar scenarios. So the defense that he was joking is a bit flimsy.

I too would like to report him. For brilliance.

But I WASN'T joking. We really did sell Wayne Quinn to Newcastle in 2001. OH WHY WON'T YOU BELIEVE ME...?

I'd say its worthy of note. We got £1m for him! Haa haaa haaaa.

£1m for Wayne Quinn is one of the most outrageous pieces of business we've ever carried off. Looked great alongside a 3 man central defence including Paul McGrath. Looked shite right up to Sir Bobby popping up with the wonga.

wrong, he was fantastic as an attacking left sided player in a 5-man midfield who could help out a fantastic defence (tiler/holdsworth/mcgrath). bruce came in and like some caveman went number 2 = borbokis = right back, number 3 = quinn = left back and played 4-4-2 with his caveman legs in the middle absolutely fucked, subsequently we sold, the two best attacking threats we had under the spackman. lets be right.

Fair point - there's probably some relativism clouding my judgement as this seemed to be one of the few deals we made around that time that I was happy with. Definitely agree with the change in style nullifying one of our more exciting outlets in Borbokis.

So we sold quinn and he shone like a star for the rest of his glittering career. Oh hang on, no he didn't.

Of course, in Bruce's defence, by the time he took over we had sold Tiler and McGrath had retired, and Holdsworth, Sandford and a cast of thousands in a 3 man defence was probably not as attractive a formation.

i didn't like steve bruce

Hes been a resounding failure ever since we let him down and he walked hasn't he? Liked Bruce and the board lied to him about transfers (sound familiar) so he pissed off. Good man.

That's fine ponty but ffs don't ever let him know it.
