Approached by the club? Surely has a great record with small budgets? Would he leave Rotherham?

Semi Ajayi
Marek Rodak? Yes a loan but either him or his team clearly has better eye for players than our current scouting set up.
Jamal Blackman? Better than current keepers?

Tbh, I’ve got nothing against the bloke and he’d probably do a decent job but its so incredibly underwhelming compared to when we appointed Slav.

If I was him, I wouldnt leave Rotherham.
As was Wilder originally, I think? We need someone that will get these players working hard as they clearly have the ability just look flat at the minute?

If we haven't got money to spend then another Slav type appointment is pointless?

Money probably can't imagine the money he is on at Rotherham will be life changing, then again I could be wrong
He can earn that money plus a promotion bonus at Rotherham and they'll stick by him. He'll be getting paid off by us in a year but then will need to find another job.

But that was a different situation. A summer appointment with time to implement his style off the back of 6 utterly shit years in League One.

You’re right we dont have any money so why the fuck did the Prince bother trying to get Slav in when he could have got Warne in the summer? This all points to not being an issue with the manager, but an issue with the owner.

Only thing is he knows it's likely Rotherham will go straight go back down as they can't or won't compete financially. At least with us he may get some time in the championship to try and build so long as we don't flirt with relegation this season.

I'd rather have Rotherham's squad than ours at the moment. They won't compete financially but will try and compete on the pitch. We're paying everyone shitloads of money and they're not competing (odd exception of course).

I agree it would suggest there is no long term plan but we can't change the past and in our current clearly skint position Paul Warne seems the best man for the job. He has a great track record in terms of being able to work with small budgets and get the best out of what he has got.

The lack of plan long term is worrying I genuinely thought under Slav we might stabilise this season and then next season make a few quality signings and then be right up there much like Bournemouth have done but that clearly won't be happening.

Agreed just doesnt make sense how we’ve ended up here. I would have thought the Prince must have seen this as a possibility if he knew he didnt have the money to support Slav. Which begs the question, why hasnt he just been honest with himself and us about what he could afford.

Well, if it is Warne that gets the job at least he'll quieten the 'fckin gerritintbox' lot 🤣🤣
Couldn't agree more. I like Warne and he's doing a great job but I've seen Rotherham twice this season and they're very direct. Sadlier looks a decent footballer but if Smith got injured I think they'd struggle. Not an appointment for the Lane purists.

Would be a underwhelming appointment , would rather have Heckingbottom

I think it is a real shame, but it obviously looks like the Slav appointment was pointless.

I think we are seeing what happens when an owner who clearly loves football but has never run a football club takes the reins. We as fans all genrerally said Slav was a great managerial appointment at this level but we don't know what he is like to work with day to day or the all important financials. Slav was only going to be a great appointment if you gave him the tools and resources needed which like you say the Prince was in no position to do.

The Prince was clearly pressured into buying Brewster as well which is now looking to be an abomination of a signing. It all stinks of having no long term plan. It was obvious at Christmas 2018 we weren't going to get relegated in our first season in the Premier league so at that point Wilder should have known about budgets for next season. This isn't a dig at Wilder but the fact he had to go into the media a month before the following season started and demand a striker who was clearly beyond what we could afford suggests again a lack of planning.
