Bogle is League 1 at best. He cannot defend to save his fucking life.

He's a wingback who was one of the top goal creators in the Championship x2 when he was just out of nappies. Why he's playing full back is anyone's guess. There are many such mysteries with the current set up.

And I have no doubt that’s your greatest achievement in life. Your mother will be proud of you.
It’s now my second greatest achievement just behind receiving a virtual insult online from Gav.

Foderingham
A figure of ridicule at almost every club he’s been at.

Lowe
Ushered out the door quicker than he came through it.

Stevens
A player who came up through the divisions as part of the journey. No longer up to it.

Egan
The only fit centre-half left from the Wilder era. A shadow of himself without O’Connell.

Robinson
Abysmal.

Bogle
A bog-standard Championship right-back who clearly isn’t up to it this season.

Baldock
Again, part of the journey. But just loves to complicate everything he does and a headless chicken in the opposition half.

O’Connell
Played through injury - one which could possibly end his career. No sign of being close to a return.

Basham
The only one who can still hold his head high. But without time on his side.

Osborn
Jack of all trades. Master of none.

Norwood
The most ‘confidence player’ I’ve ever seen. Awful without it. Lacks a midfield presence EVERY midfielder should have.

Fleck
Absolutely no idea what’s happened to him but he’s dog shit.

Freeman
What an outstanding £4m capture that was.

Berge
A £20m superstar who can’t stay fit but is a really nice lad, apparently.

Brewster
A £20m striker who couldn’t score in a brothel.

McBurnie
A £20m striker who looks like he won a competition.

Mousset
A £10m striker who can’t get close to 10 games without injury.

McGoldrick
A star of the journey who Wilder got the best out of. Even at his best he was turd in front of goal. Now looks like the player Ipswich released but 5 years older.

Burke
Looks like he lost a competition and turned up anyway.

Sharp
A club legend who, like Basham, can hold his head high and still offerBut can’t be far off retiring.

That’s some legacy, Chrissy.
Bet you're a blast to stand next to at the Christmas party!

He played full back at Derby, my mates a Derby fan and he told me when we signed him he's ok going forward but shit at defending how true.

The most tangible CW legacy at the moment is a divided fanbase. Those fans that since CW left having moved on and those fans that since CW left not able to move on. I fear that from the latter and for the foreseeable future , we're going to get rather a lot of interest and mention of the fortunes of another Championship team in the North-East...

Totally agree that at the moment his defensive work is almost non existent but, in the past, think him and JOC complemented each other and the reason the system worked so well is they'd both be able to cover each other defensively when one went forward.

I'm just not sure we'll ever see that Flecky back.
Not whilst he's on his current wages + picking up an appearance bonus despite dogshit form - easy money

I think all three had very different periods in charge, were contrasting personalities and faced unique difficulties within the club itself.

Sure, towards the end of Bassett, large sections turned on him, but hatred? Most understood he'd done his utmost in trying circumstances. A lesser man would have walked after Deano got sold, when he was on holiday. We neve recovered from that, although if the board had provided money for Blake earlier, who knows? Bassett should have left after Chelsea, he admits this, but again his loyalty was poignant. I'd be amazed if even a year after he left, whether any United fans felt anything but thanks and admiration for him and his achievements. But no legacy.

Warnock kept us up and gave us our pride back, especially in the triple assault season. Initially he worked well with McCabe, the crowds came back during this period and we played with passion and no little ability. The loss of Brown and the hangover from two semi and a final defeat stifled progress but the transfer activity was frenetic and he got the squad he needed, to eventually take up. There was the Portsmouth saga but Warnock has and always will be an idiosyncratic personality who would fall out with himself if it was just him in the room. Yes, his away tactics and signings cost us in the PL, but it was very close. A fit Hulse and who knows? Did people hate him when we were relegated, I really didn't sense this. We should have kept him for at least another season but didn't. Increasingly he became hated but in a Kaiser Soze way, where it was the myth that attracted attention. Legacy. Yes, the academy set up. We were cash rich when he left. Not his fault Robson blew the money and chance to bounce back.

So Wilder. Too much said and written already. Hated? Personally I feel depressed seeing him at Boro and jealous. That could and should have been us, there really was a chance for something special. After the Palace away game win when Berge debuted, it felt as if United were at the party, we'd arrived. No one would have believed what's unraveled since, it's so sad. I'm afraid to say that of the three, Wilder will become the devil incarnate and a figure of real hatred. He'll do well at Boro, working with a loyal, rich and level headed chairman (fan too) and will be given time and money. Boro fans are success starved (less then we were) and will respond to his working class cloak and honest approach. Our fans will become more embittered, as Boro rise and we fall. Boro in the PL and us back in League One within the next 18 months is possible, albeit not probable. Legacy? It's still being created and it isn't pretty.

In 36 years, I've had three managers who made an impression, but I fear Wilder's will be the most telling in the club's long term future.
Great post

Not even in the bottom 5 worst

Aston Villa 17pts (2015-6)
Huddersfield 16pts (2018-9)
Sunderland 15pts (2005-6)

Hate to say it but not far out with all of that

I don't. Nor did I say that.

Also, I don't think Warnock left us in a mess. He was given nothing in the PL and made a good fist of it in the circumstances.
Robson was given the pot of gold and spunked it.

Bassett a bit before my time at 30.

Robson signed some decent players to be honest he just couldn't get em to play.
