Apart from the obvious that we can’t defend and struggle to score we looked better than them no?

£43m in two subs sat on the bench when we are creating but not scoring and neither don’t even get a run has left me scratching my head - and No I haven’t got nits…

Why no Bogle, no good defensive wise but would have given another option in the final third.

Positive - Didsy looked good.

Sucker punched by Warnock fanfuckintastic!

Re-focus for Bournemouth boys UTB!

We were not creating so having anyone else upfront would not have mattered. We had opportunities to create but did not turn them into chances.
We still cannot cross the ball into the box effectively.

Warnock played us like a fiddle and we are still clearly 4 or 5 players short of what Slav wants about sums up my feelings after that.

Unfortunately, if we come up against a well drilled and organised team, they’re going to do well against us.

On the other hand, we’ve shown that we are still able to run over teams when they sit back and allow us to play.

My advice is, buckle up and prepare for us to look great one week and shit the next. Slav seems to be far from happy with the squad he’s got and rightly so.

Ndiaye and MGW play best when the ball is played to their feet. No one was picking them out, or at least not picking them out quickly enough or with the right ball. They need the ball passing to them to run onto, not crossing to them. We took them out of the game by not playing to their strengths and that got rid of any creativity we had, so the players resorted to the same tried and tested tactics that's been drilled into them for the last few years, which no longer work.

We play a system that forces opposition to go wide and attack down the flanks, then seem surprised when they do and don't deal with it. Or worse yet, the two midfielders set up to sit in front of the defence to protect them, just let players zip by them unopposed. Fleck and Norwood are garbage on the defensive side. Away from home Guedioura should be starting.

If you look at our wins, 2 have been against bottom four clubs and then Derby who were down to 10 men. I think we'll generally beat weaker sides and struggle against stronger ones.

Exactly this pal, wins against the worst in the division. A real reminder of where we are at the moment.

We need to get over the price of some of our players, it's what they cost at PL level.

The money has been payed, it's all in the past. Constantly dwelling on it every time Brewster or McBurnie are discussed is either a waste of time or intentionally trying to spread negativity and outrage.

Is Slav still registered as a player? Him when he was 29 would be ideal. We need a shit kicking no nonsense type in midfield to protect the wet farts Norwood and Fleck. By god, I’ve seen a quicker petrol tanker turn up at Morrison’s Hillsborough today than those two. And it turned quicker as well. Flecks two stone overweight and Norwood seems to be auditioning for a live position at Madame Tussaud’s.

We don't have the personnel with the technical ability to play the way Slav wants us to.
We try,of course we do,ok at the beginning of a move, until the opposition press more tightly as we move on.
Then we don't have the skills to play in tighter and tighter situations.
Don't forget, around 70% of the outfield players were Wilder signings !

And as a positive, there was a time when we used to struggle against those kind of teams.

Organised sides like boro will do well against us we have no plan b so we are fucked if we cant break teams down easly

We were overrun in midfield, didn’t utilise our better players and they took their chances.

Fleck, Norwood, Sharp, Stevens, Didz all need a long hard look at I’d say, as they’re not our future, both through age and inconsistencies.

As a collective fan base we need to look at our current offering without bias, and the reality is the starting eleven from last night isn’t strong enough as a unit to beat top half Championship teams who will be well organised and far more clinical.

This in turn means we’re unlikely to exit the league in either direction, so have a chance to stabilise and settle a strong eleven with a consistent run of games.

Not sure we should be playing both away from home against teams like Boro, they seemed to get in each others way at times last night and were easily bullied off the ball quite often, as was Billy who spent a lot of time on his arse with his hands in the air looking for a foul.

Lessons hopefully learned, we knew they were a big physical side and should have set up accordingly, again like West Brom we were bullied, Guedioura and McBurnie should have started to give us a more physical presence.

Overall we didn't play too badly, Osborn was busy as usual and Didzy looked good when he came on. We've got to do something about the midfield pairing of Fleck and Norwood though....

We tried walking the ball into the net again.
Undone by two wonder strikes.
Did the usual of backing off and allowing teams to run at us.
When pressed in our defensive half we made mistakes or turned over possession.
Bad decisions in final third means we wasted opportunities.

About sums it up.

Anyway dust ourselves down and go again!

We had more attempts and possession but they scored 2 screamers at the right time for them.
This happens in a very competitive division
On another day their shots are like ours were saved or blocked
There's not much to choose between 12 or so clubs just now

I just love the panic and criticism of some on this forum, FFS we are in a major rebuild slav is up against it with the squad he inherited (quite a few over priced under achieving members of the squad ) , you can't just do it overnight, I am resigned to the fact if we make the play offs this season that's a bonus I will properly judge slav next season when it's properly his team
If you want to blame anyone blame wilder (and I will be eternally grateful for his first 4 seasons but he just lost the plot "and I suspect the players " there's a reason he hasn't got a job yet)
Onwards and upwards

To me it seems like team has got some spark from MGW's tricks, but what seems to be natural for him needs thinking on many others and that's why agressively pressing opponents seem do good against us.

We have changed the playstyle and it will get better by time, but there is still some bodies in starting XI that could do better or be replaced with others. I bet we will see few changes on saturday.

We do have a plan B which could work. Go back to the old formation to tighten up at the back during a game by bringing Bash on and going to a 3.

If we won't do that under SJ then we need to swap the midfielders to help protect the back 4.

Fleck, Norwood midfield = lose

I'd overpower them two on my own

The Fleck and Norwood combo doesn't work in this formation against the better teams.

Fleck would fair better with Hourihane alongside him. Norwood is just too slow and gets pressed out of the game.

If we want to continue playing 4-2-3-1 then we have to be stronger at the back and in midfield. For me, we have to play Basham and Guedioura (or Brunt) as the two in front of the back four, rather than Norwood and Fleck.
This instantly gives us a lot more defensive cover…we probably don’t concede the first goal if Bash played last night.

Why do we need 6 defenders anyway ?
Especially when the two midfielders (who are basically acting as defenders) haven't got a challenge in them, are 5ft 8 tall so can't win a header, and have about as much physical strength as our lass.
When did Norwood and Fleck suddenly decide that it's their job to sit 5 yards in front of our centre halves and basically do fuck all for the entire match ?

Who told them to do this ? Especially both of them.
Personally I can't believe anybody did, they have just taken it upon themselves to toss it off and hide in four out of every five games

Is addy injured I would have thought last night's game would have been a shoe in for him to screen the back 4
Or I would be tempted to give bash a try there
