Not sure what Slav was expecting tonight but we didn’t seem prepared for a Warnock side.
Yes them scoring first didn’t help but it was all to easy for them. Force us out wide and let the centre halves mop up. Can’t help but feel Guediora should have been on the bench to give us some bite when we needed it. I was also staggered that we didnt change things up top at all. Sharp was isolated for 90 mins.

Stevens certainly didn’t do enough to keep his place for Bournemouth I’d sooner watch RND have a go and get at his man even if he is defensively suspect.

We will play other similar physical sides and will go behind in games this season so lets hope we are better prepared next time. Still not too worried but we can’t play Hull and Peterborough every week.

Agree at the minute.

I worry that all you need to do is close us down. That's it.
There was no risk to them pressing us, they were safe to press us knowing we offered no aerial threat and no pace in behind.

You don’t have to go long all the time but it just keeps the opponent on their toes.

Schooled both on & off pitch in how (not) to perform & this level
Baffling subs
Made Bamba look outstanding by putting 3 up agin him that combined weren’t his height / weight / physicality
Off for a parmo (& chips [but no ‘tits’])
Next task - secure the ‘gas’ to get to ( & back from?) the ‘mouth

It might sound controversial but I'd drop Sharp for the next match. Although he's scored recently, he's starting to need far too many chances until he sticks it away. He's lost his clinical finish and composure in front of goal and he's missed some great chances over the last few games that normally you'd bet yout house he'd score.

Closing people down isn't just a Warnock thing. It's what most limited sides do in this league. I don't even think Boro did it that well it's just we can't cope with it in any sort of fashion.

Totally agree with all previous posts. Adore Billy but he really shouldn't be playing 90 mins 3 times in a week. Midfield looked limp and easy again. I'd consider going back to 3 CBs as we're not good or strong enough in midfield to go with 2 CBs...plus Bashs' commitment, stamina and aerial ability wouldn't go amiss. Just knew at half time that was the end of any goalscoring.

I know what you mean.
Things can change quickly and we could be thinking differently again in a game or two but so far that would be my.take.

We don't set any traps or anything yet. We're a bit too linear with some nice passing. Hopefully we will evolve though but this is our present state of play.

Of course let us have the ball and dictate and we will.hurt you. Who does that though.

NW will be laughing all the way to the bar tonight, thinking, "cheers Slav you set the team up exactly how we wanted."
Tippy tappy possession based footie with little impact or end product - and there's always a mistake in there when pressed from a goal kick.
FFS.
We must wake up fast. No VAR, no ref blowing for a player falling over and no nice easy ball playing centre backs.

Completely agree regarding Guedioura. I wanted him to start tonight, knowing exactly what type of approach Warnock would take. It's incredible he wasn't at least on the bench.

If we don't toughen up a bit we are going to end up as flat track bullies in this division. We'll thrash the poor teams, but the more streetwise ones will do a number on us.

One to learn from and we go again

Sharp’s always needed a lot of chances to score. The reason he scores a lot is he’s always in the right place at the right time, so he always gets chances. I suspect if he was dropped we’d suddenly find we weren’t creating chances.

Just as we were picking up the last team in the world we needed to play was a Warnock side.

Could do without Bournemouth next now,.. a fortuitous Covid outbreak would be useful this week regroup during the international break,

Absolutely. Hopefully we learn from it and this defeat is seen a positive down the line but I don't see how you can make our midfielders suddenly mobile and strong enough to recover when being outmuscled or dispossessed. Wilder managed it but I do think the 3 at the back hugely covered the flaws of Norwood and Fleck against aggressive sides.

Going forward I'm much more positive. I think we have come on leaps and bounds since Luton but off the ball we are really poor.

Sharp has made himself first choice striker at 35.. When he should be at the end of his career..

Thats how wank the others are, hope they read this... We've done nothing but get behind them and support them since they joined, but that's not enough for them.. If I was them I'd be embarrassed to call myself a striker...

And they are not strikers... Read it boys, you're not.. You're taking the piss.. Get Ready.

2 mid table sides but they had more of a plan, was more organised and can shoot on target from outside the box 🤷🏻‍♂️ #warnocked
