Team for Boro

I'd make a few changes.

------------------Olsen-----------------
Baldock----Egan---Davies---Stevens
--------Guediora----Hourihane-------
-----MGW-----Ndiaye----Osborn----
-----------------Sharp-----------------

Harsh on Norwood especially, but I think we will need someone to mix it up physically, and playing Addy alongside Hourihane gives us a nice balance, with a decent threat from set pieces.

McBurnie might be needed at some point too, if we are struggling to cope with their high stuff, but I'd still start Sharp.

Stevens for RND?

Maybe even Sharp drops out - we've flogged him to death these last few weeks but he still looks fit as a fiddle!
Stevens for RND seems a logical switch atm. RND not hugely impressive so far and Stevens just gives us that added experience.

Other than that, I wouldn't change a thing.

I'd like to see Hourihan get a start, maybe in place of Ndaiye what's the latest on Berge?

Doesn't seem long ago that Enda before his injury was getting loads of stick on here and clamouring for RND to start, I don't disagree with Enda starting mind

Same team for me.

After Bournemouth on Saturday, the majority have 2 weeks off with it being international week again.

As for Stevens for RND - Enda comes back after a rubbish 18 months - he needs to earn his place, but can see the change happening as RND's defensive positioning being a bit ropey recently - getting caught on the wrong side of the ball.

The issue with both full backs is SJ wants to push them on, just like wing backs so they will get caught out at some point, so we have to make sure Davies is ready for defending with just Egan.

One of our strengths now is pushing the full backs high up the pitch, forcing the opposition deeper and it may help to explain why our possession stats are so high in games.

Think this could be the only change assuming no injuries.

That was LWB though. I'd like to see him at LB which is a position he can play (and his natural position).

Must admit I'm a bit torn on RND, he doesn't seem to get forward quite as well as Enda....doesn't lose the shirt just yet but Enda looked good against Soton and Derby and links up better with Osborn and Fleck.

Knowing Boro's physicality I wouldn't be surprised to see Oli Mac start tonight. MGW, Ndaiye, Fleck, Sharp & Osborn is a very height challenged side and i think we may need a bit of help defensively which McB gives.

Every time I see "RND" I try and work out what position it's referring to before realising I'm an idiot

I realise this contributes nothing to the thread, just wanted to share my stupidity
Same with MGW for me Haha

pass, move, pass, move is how to beat a physical side - If we've got the bollox to do it as eventually a few players have to take a bit of a kicking.

think refs are more clued up on fouls and cynical play now whether it's the home team that do it or not.

If NW wants his boro team to go forward, there's going to be more space for our type of football to flourish (as we saw at Hull).

I'm probably looking forward more to away games now as to home games as there should, in theory, be more space for us to play our tippy tappy stuff.

Olsen
Baldock - Egan - Davies - Stevens
Addy - Norwood
Bogle - MGW - Osborn
McBurnie

Subs: Fods, Sharp, Ndiaye, Hourihane, Lopata, RND, Fleck
Addy x McB give us strength and height. I want to see Bogle/Osborn pressing from the front with MWG in the centre. Sharp/Ndiaye/Hourihane benched as a plan B.

Can't agree on Bogle, he has been poor so far this season.

Maybe if he'd play a consistent run of games he might come good. Hes 21 and has played less that 30 games in 2 years from someone who is probably one of the best young talents in his position id say its hardly his fault

Or maybe it is entirely his fault for not taking his opportunities or showing enough in training...

Would quite like to see Brewster make an appearance at the end if we’re comfortable. Want the lad to get off the mark

Thought he might have done a job vs Derby. Balders had free roam down the right, but he isn't such an attacking player as Bogle.

The pushing on of fullbacks means we need someone like adlene to tidy up behind them if needed, I actually can't remember us having a midfield enforcer for a long time

Now if there is one player who does need a run of games it is Brewster.

Olsen
Baldock Egan Davies Stevens
Hourihane Norwood Fleck
Gibbs-White Sharp Ndiaye

Subs: Foderingham, Osborn, Basham, RND, Berge, McBurnie, Brewster

Not in this team he doesn’t. It’s better without him.
The team is better without him at the moment, but it would be good to be giving him regular minutes where possible when the game is dead and buried. Sooner or later we will need to stop relying so much on Sharp, and Brewster might need to step into that role.
