Robson caught in newspaper sting

Glad to hear L**ds and Cardiff mentioned. I don't mind them being royally f*cked over.

So, let's get this straight. We sack Robson, and then he tries to manage us again from afar?!

So just to sum up, we were being lined up for a fake takeover where Bryan Robson was to have been manager of the manager? Was this to be his final act of revenge?

So, let's get this straight. We sack Robson, and then he tries to manage us again from afar?!

No.

He gets his mates Lim, Sim, Chim, Kim to buy the club off Mr McDim, whilst also buying the Pigs

The curse of Robbo lives on, even from Thailand he's trying to fcuk us up

So in summary...

Far east businessmen would sell their own grandmothers for a quick profit - like we didn't know.

Ex-footballers are just as dense as current ones - like we didn't know.

Sir Alex has his fingers in more pies than Ron Jeremy - like we didn't know.

And the McCabes are a disgrace - obviously.

It was shocking, but its also quite funny, but at the same time, frightening that this can be done!

How desperate is McCabe to get out, lovely piccy of his son with the main man.

And the McCabes are a disgrace - obviously.

Well not necessarily.

Where's Micalijo when you need him... I wonder if Birch was involved....

For the sake of fairness, there was no suggestion that the Blades did anything other than allow a little Thai bloke with links to the Thai FA to take a few pics with Simon McCabe

I can't accept that it was just a photo opp.

Poses too many questions for me.

Buy a floundering club, get them into the premier league with a shower of free transfers and loanee's. Invest nothing in the infrastructure then sell up and scarper.

Hasn't a certain someone not too far from home already done that on the South coast?

Me too, but there is no suggestion that it was anything other than an innocent meeting...;)

Remember this one from back in April - Malaysian Investor Linky

And perhaps these two also spurred this, taken from the Star

DAVE McCarthy, Sheffield United’s managing director, has reassured supporters that potential investors will be intensely scrutinised before being invited to join the South Yorkshire club.

Kevin McCabe, United’s plc chairman and major shareholder, is believed to have rejected offers from several folk willing to provide funding after concluding the deals being proposed were not conducive to the long term well-being of Bramall Lane.

But, having publicly admitted that he wants to unearth an individual or consortium ready to “share the financial burden” of running the team, McCabe is continuing to field calls from would-be partners.

“Investment is an ongoing search,” said McCarthy. “And before anything gets done it has to satisfy Kevin McCabe and his family.

“They want what’s best for United. They don’t want to do something in haste that turns out to be wrong further down the line.”

United hired Trevor Birch to spearhead their search for fresh revenue but the 53-year-old, who brokered Roman Abramovich’s takeover of Chelsea in July 2003, resigned his position as chief executive last month.

However, he is continuing to advise United in transfer matters and has granted them access to his extensive list of contacts.

Having initially explored several leads in North America, Birch is understood to have focused on the Far East during the final 12 months of his reign.

Given the fault lines which split the global financial market, United continue to view its emerging economies as the most likely source of new funds.

“There are always nibbles on the line,” added McCarthy.

“But, I think it’s fair to say that in terms of investment now, there probably isn’t a lot of choice.

“Nevertheless, we are an attractive proposition.”

Not entirely sure what the shock is here?

We've made it clear for some time that we are searching for investment, we've been approached by unscrupulous businessmen..isn't that par for the course?

If the McCabe's had been involved in the meetings and/or done anything other than allowed a potential investor to visit the lane then perhaps there would be some heavy questions to be answered, but as it stands, we were approached by a dodgy character who failed in taking us over?

It won't stop some people using this as an excuse to beat McCabe though sadly.

Now you know why the Forum location is kept secret, you dont want Sim and Fergy turning up, when they are out on the piss

Just PM'd Kopped, I can't reveal the exact boozer for the next forum, but its a Sports bar in Bangkok. ;)

this is where our season went down hill
he showed up Mcabe sacked Blackwell to impress then
put Speed incharge young new manager who could easly allow Robson to work above him ? ?
nearly could have been pulled off if it hadn't been a set up

as it looks like it is been done at a number of clubs in the football league after that

Cant see the problem with the McCabes allowing a potential investor to visit the ground. At least we wont fall for something like the Geoff Sheard debacle as those suckers from S6 did

not a problem all he has done is meet with a potential invester
but he sacked Blackwell to impress him
some say thats where our season went down hill

Some say that if the Stig had been in charge he would of done a better job than McCabe. :)

But this was from March 2011 wasn't it? So it surely has nothing to do with Blackwell being sacked?

How is any of this bad on McCabe!? He had talks with somebody about selling the football club, doesnt mean he intended on doing it and may have just accepted a meeting. He probably didnt know it was corrupt either. Regardless he rejected the approach.

Why do people get touchy about him selling anyway, if the new people could supply invest and drive the club forward then it would be a good thing.

Also it was 15million not 50.

Apparently we can be bought for 50 Million - Source: Mr Sim

15 million !!

15 million !!

It looks bad because Mr Birch and Mr McCabe could have done what I have just done and typed London Nominees Limited into Google gone on the website and seen that

A) Bryan Robson was involved, so that would have gone down well.

and

B) the firm has two addresses, one in hong kong and a PO Box in the British virgin islands. Which unless you've never read the recently defunct Sunday red top seems perfectly fine for a company of such business.

He doesn't give a fuck about SUFC and tonight has proved it, not matter how many sound bites he vomits out for Seth and Paul.

Ahh for the days Mike MacDonald, At least he never got us relegated and knew when he was beat.

Ahh for the days Mike MacDonald,

Tonight has proved nothing unless you were privvy to any discussions that went on between the McCabes and Mr Sim
Were London Nominees even mentioned in any discussions between the two parties.
Isnt MM still a shareholder at the Lane

Somebody get on the blower to Matthew Bell - its time he wrote 'Fit and Proper 2'...
