We were the better team on the night, but not to such an extent that I could bemoan a draw. Reminded me of England against Poland.

We had complete control 2nd half, but if you don't create enough goalscoring opportunities and miss when you do (Sharp, Fleck) then you can't complain when the other team claws their way back into it.

Their playing style was quite basic, lots of diagonal balls, but Johnson was a bright spark for them and they missed a big chance themselves. They were a tricky customer.
Overall I think we deserved to win, but if you're going to be a soft touch at the back and cough up goals like we do then we're always going to struggle to put teams away.

Preston, perennial mid-tablers, a nothing club in the scheme of things but always a club you don’t like playing and feel could beat you if you drop your guard. We were unlucky, two gifted goals. We were better than them and are better then them but if you can’t defend basic situations you deserve results like that.

Pretty much agree with that. I thought we created enough chances to win with Sharp, Freeman and Fleck missing out and out sitters but you can't say you deserved to win when you concede goals like that. We were the better side but their style caused us big problems. Lots of sides are like Preston in this league and until we get a grip of defending basic punts, long throws and set pieces we will continue to concede shit loads of goals. You can't blame teams for exploiting our lack of ability of defending direct play.

What is this chance that Freeman missed? I must've gone for a piss or something. Have no memory of it.

Just after they got their first. 6 yards out or so and blasted over. Another good move though. It's on the 10 minutes highlights

Just seen it. Awful actually. Would've been some goal. MGW and Ndiaye combining again. These two were great again last night, we have to persevere with them.

Olsen even more culpable for their first than I thought on rewatch too. Really poor judgement to come all that way.

Thanks Roy.

For all our better football in spells we would do well not to turn our noses up at their agricultural style, it was working & showed our defensive fragility at the moment. We might have just edged it but I always felt they could cause us trouble, but to lose 2 points at the death is a sickener.

Fair comments.

We were slightly the better side and created slightly the better chances….so if any team deserved a win it was us
but for an away team they gave us a good game. It waa tight game we just edged but one can easily argue they deserved a draw.

Birmingham and especially a poor Huddersfield side sat back parking the bus most of the match.
This was an entertaining game and you have to give PNE credit for being fairly positive targeting the left hand side of our defence.
Sickening end to the match but overall we showed plenty of attacking promise, we just need to cut out the schoolboy defensive mistakes.

Thanks Roy. Another club I can add to my list of teams I hate because of their fans comments on “The View From..”

I know we have played like it in the past (and plenty of Premier a league sides thought that’s how we played last 2 seasons), but they are defending a pretty awful brand of football, that I am sure in their heart of hearts they know to be awful. Sadly we will get bullied week in week out by these Space Jam Mon-Stars type of sides.

Some of our fans have selective memory problems Preston missed some absolute sitters and thoroughly deserved a least a point if not all three.

"Robinson's header to Storey was superb"

Not wrong there 🤦‍♂️

Mildly interesting comments from the football club equivalent of Beige. Never promoted, never relegated, they just errrrr, exist.

They will still be in this division in five years time, they have it sussed At this level.

We won’t be… I’m just not sure in which direction we will have gone out of it.

Wankers.

At least Blackpool is a better area than Preston

🤣🤣🤣

We need somebody assigned to be the enforcer for ndiaye, they'll give him a whack to take him out if we let them, they need to know they're getting one back
