It could all be resolved already.
What bettis sacked/resigned? And a permanent chairman appointed? Or are you just looking at this issue specifically?

We are fumbling our way through the dark at the moment.

Why do so many on here assume there is a cock up when we don’t have the facts ?
I presume he has not even arrived in Sheffield after playing for Sweden, so would be unlikely to play on Saturday anyway.
It's Sheffield United, reason enough to assume a cock up.

We do have one #FACT. Robin Olsen is not listed in the Sheffield United Squad List published today by the EFL as per their Regulations.

If that Bettis came walking down my street, swearing at kids and kicking heads off daffodils, I'd say 'Oi, Bettis, No! ' 😤😤😤

That presumably wouldn’t impact on him being on the squad list post Transfer Window though.

Looking at the squad list why are both John Fleck and Enda Stevens not listed as home grown players?

A mashup of lyrics:

"Hes from Sweden
"His move was fucked up by Steven"
(Bettis, Bettis, who the fuck is Bettis)

"Meant to be a loaner from Roma"
"The club will probably blame Corona"
"And say it'll be alright"

Neither qualify as "home-grown"

Need to be registered with a club under the FA (or Welsh FA) for at least 3 years before their 21st birthday (or the end of the season in which they turn 21)

Stevens was didn't move to an English club til he was 21, Fleck was in Scotland til he was about 22...

On the plus said, despite being of no real value contribution wise to this thread....... re arrange the letters in his name and hey presto....... "Sir Noel Nob"

So, it's less than 24 hours to KO, and nobody appears to have come out and said if he can play or not, the EFL will all have pissed off for a round of golf, so it's looking more like goalie wag then

The club really is an embarrassing shambles. A new keeper was the number one priority so I hope we haven’t fucked this up (after all the other fuck ups).

As I understand it, a club is allowed to make additions to the squad after deadline day, in certain situations (i.e. covid constraints etc.) affecting deadlines.

It's almost as though some want to find something to be able to slag the owner and board for.
You don't think the manager not knowing whether his new keeper can play or not tomorrow is a cause for serious concern?

If he's waiting on covid tests/status then it's a cause for annoyance, but what can you do?

If he's waiting to see if he can play because there's some registration issue then that's a cause for concern.

But we don't know which it is, because he's not said much and all the journos have got the face on so don't ask questions.

From the Star article:

However, he will have been required to pass a test three days before preparing to link-up with Slavisa Jokanovic’s squad and arrange another two days after passing through immigration.

Speaking ahead of the meeting with Darren Ferguson’s side, Jokanovic suggested Olsen was scheduled to fly to England on Thursday night - meaning that procedure could take place only hours before kick-off.

I appreciate there may be Covid factors involved in whether he plays or not this week. But putting those aside we don't know if he's even eligible to play? I don't see Covid as a valid reason to omit him from the squad list (unless we're sending him back if he tests positive :) ).

Seems like COVID rules would be stopping him making his debut.
