Invariably during Keith Edwards commentary

At least he doesn't use the word "like" that every teenager under the sun uses x number of times in each sentence and even then, they use it in the wrong place.

Where on earth do they get it from.

No but he does justify a reason for disliking something by finding the worst examples.

I tend to listen on ifollow and watch the games on illegal means and the audio is generally behind. I’ve found myself wondering what Keith Edwards is on about at times. When he starts with “so there you go, the lads done it again...” as a player takes a throw in back in his own half and it doesn’t result in a goal. Or when we concede “well there we go...” there we go what? Your expert summary was all about how we were attacking and then we concede against the run of play...

Say what you see Keith, not what your agenda thinks you should see

I stayed in the Premier Inn at the bottom of the moor and there was a young girl having breakfast with her mum. I assumed she was starting Uni or something (it was mid September) and I couldn't help overhearing her as they were sat quite near. I was trying to ignore it as it was driving me mad. I have never in my life heard anyone use the word 'like' so frequently and so inappropriately. It was almost as if she'd never learnt to speak properly, never learnt to construct a coherent sentence.

If she had a job interview and spoke like that she'd have no chance.

Agreed - driving home last night, 5 live radio were interviewing 13 YO's - about 5.45 time. I knew the word "like" was an issue as my better half works at a comp in S10 - but it was quite astonishing how many use it.

I am told, kids at school now a days are NOT picked up for things like this..............sad really.

I liked Keith a great deal. He was a deadly finisher and technically a good player. I just remember where he played most of his career when he comments on people who have played at a higher level than he ever did. I believe Dean Hammond played more top flight games and scored more goals there?...

Which goes to show that if he'd had the opportunity Edwards would have found it a walk in the park.:)

she’d have no chance like :D

Gage scored a fabulous screamer of an equaliser at Villa in an evening game in 92. ( I think it was that year - Silentblade?). Got afterbird in a Lichfield pub on the way home from that. And he was a decent footballer. But as a commentator, he'd be better sticking to pulling pints in Dronfield. Edwards is a better summariser, even though he says that things are 'part and parcel of the game' at least 5 times a match......

Never saw him as a player so don't have that soft spot for him others have.

I'll always like him though as during the Blackwell, mccabe dream he was never afraid to say it how it was whilst the others were either scared of Blackwell or kissed arse for the benefit if their working relationship. You may disagree with him but he said what was on his mind and didn't pull punches.

Edwards is no wordsmith and sounds a bit like he struggles to form free flowing sentences. However I can't ever say he mis-summarised a match - which matters to me. If he's positive we were good if he's negative we were off it and when I watch the match afterwards he was basically right about it. I also don't mind Kevin Gage - he's a bit more of a clapper but talks more fluently but doesn't come across as a massive twat or anything despite having once been a southerner.

Make you wonder why not doing RS commentary. They have just said not working with them at the moment

Carl Asaba has been on a couple of times.
Ok, came over really well but imo can't beat old Kieth, always realises there are two team on the field and what works for one works for the other.
Top Man hope your back soon, doubt it though, think its all about fashion. ;)

One of the few things to make last season a little bit more palatable was being able to listen to the RS commentary usually with Keith and turning off that dreadful garbage that comes from Sky.

I‘ve asked on this forum a couple of times if the SUTV audio commentary this season is done by RS but no one replied. I emailed the club, got a reply saying they had passed it on to someone else, then nothing, so I haven’t subscribed.

Also noticed that Newcastle and Watford as two examples DO NOT CHARGE FOR AUDIO COMMENTARY, which is how it should be.

Finally, I like listening to Keith Edwards, not so much Gage but you have to be thankful for what you have, although I doubt we’ve yet to find a Blades equivalent of Pearson who I would consider a real embarrassment if he was commentating on my own club.
