Speedy system:

Brilliant stuff. I don't have any idea of the costs of those systems, but as it says at the end, 6 beers in the time it takes to serve 5 is a 20% increase. And a single pint is £4.50.

Last I heard it was franchised out to Compass (I think it was compass) on a 10 year contract (who signed that one off???). As someone said above, the club don't care as long as they get the rent or their cut so it's not their problem. But compass are losing out simply because they're hiring young kids with little to zero experience in the hospitality trade. I don't want no silver service, granted, but jesus. There were 28,000 there yesterday, many of them are after a pint. Get the pints poured. It's not difficult.

Usually have a pint every few games so not much reference but seemed alright on south stand yesterday. Got in at 14.45 and had to queue about a minute for one. Looked like it would've been the same at half time after the initial rush

I sat in the Spurs end during our 1.1 draw there and the kiosks, were everywhere. Loads of them. Completely different level with pizza kiosks, Chinese, burgers, Turkish food, fish and chips all available. I understand it's a state of the art new stadium but a world away. But then they charge £62 for the average seat.

Kop south stand corner you can now get ale at all windows yet some of the kids aren't hold enough to sell it they have to pass your order onto an older teenager who then pours the beer while the young un stands there doing nothing it is absolutely crazy have separate windows for pop and crisps and let the under 18's serve there. Maybe if they sold more food and drinks they wouldn't need to charge £5 per pint to make a profit.

Buying food or drink at the Lane feels like you're at an away match where they don't give a fuck because you're not coming back.

One hats off to the club....., that Inchs cider is very very nice.
But Fosters, jesus christ, I'd rather ring out, a sweaty old tramps, piss ridden sock, than drink that shit!
As a cider man, I concur.

Fosters is so bad I couldn't even find the stuff in Melbourne. Victoria Bitter and XXXX all over the place. Clearly a marketing gimmick.

I don't know about anyone else but I really don't like drinking beer from a plastic cup which is why I don't bother when at the Lane.
Im not overly keen, clearly it loses any fizz it should have. But again, that's not my point.

Another good point and one that is so painfully obvious. I know they get kids in as they're cheaper on wages. But jesus, have some organisation about it. There's been times when you ask person 1 for a beer who then turns to person 2 and tells them the same thing followed by person 3 pouring it, passing it to person 2 who puts it on the bar while person 1 takes payment. 3 people serving 1 pint. When, as mentioned above, that pint could have been poured before they open the shutters. They used to do it and it worked. So why stop it? Something I cannot fathom.

I didn't go so all I've ever seen is blogs and vlogs and videos and stuff. We don't have the kind of space for that the bottom of the kop, so I'm not going to start questioning why we can't have super-duper up to date hi-tech gadgetry. But christ, just a pint ready for me that I've already paid for at 255 with a voucher is all I ask.

Sausages pre-laid out on griddle, in oven. Oven turned on at 20 past 3. Breadcakes prepared soon as HT whistle went. Robinson's Ginger Tom slopped into a pint glass (gets rid of a lot of the gas). Sat down with sausage butties and ale in time for 2nd half ko. Simples.

These would be insignificant issues if we were winning at top of the league. What’s the beer like in the ground btw? Not a big drinker of alcohol so never bothered buying one.
It's pretty shit. Even when we are winning the league

Years ago in the family stand, ordered a chip butty for the boy about 2.45. Tray of chips arrived, no explanation. When asked, the bread cakes hadn’t defrosted. Nothings changed obviously. Everytime theres a complaint the so called managers disappear, leaving behind bewildered untrained kids to take the abuse.

When at Southampton a few years ago my brother asked for a chip butty from a van outside the ground. Guy looked non plussed, we try to explain. He gave him a tray of chips with an unbuttered bread roll on the top.

Anyone know whats happened to the 3 kiosks outside the back of the kop, G block side? Went for a pie at halftime and they were shut and no way was I queuing for half an hour at the ones at the bottom of the steps. Hope it's not permanent

Word has it that it was closed because Luke Freeman ate all the pies. Even though he is carrying some timber, think he is worth a go.

Precious from Come Fly With Me has got the franchise and she had to shut up early. Praise the Lord! 😆

Nowt wrong with half time refreshments, but why do I always get sat next to the fattest bastard in South Yorkshire, who wants a pie every 5 fucking minutes?!

Not sure why some people go to the game, they may as well lock themselves in a dark room with a bag of Melton Mowbray finest! 😂

I'll try that tonight and imagine I'm at the game. Now where did I put the torch and brown sauce?

Now there's a thought we should start selling pork pies, those what are about the size of a cricket ball with crusts like concrete. They'd be great to pelt the players with when (Wayne Rooney's) Derby turn us over.
Be careful, you will have the pork pie police (from the pork pie thread where they all get excited about jelly, texture, and seasoning!) on your case!

How difficult can the club make it to order a pint? Last time we were allowed in the bottom kop had a dedicated beer kiosk. That's gone. So the queues take longer. We used to have beer vouchers. They've now gone so the queues take longer.

No, a pint isn't the bee-all-and-end-all so some might suggest it's moaning for nowt. But the queues tell a different story. And the computer system went down at one point, and because there's no cash any more, the card machines weren't working (though I accept this isn't the fault of any individual).

It's just poor organisation. Does anyone on here have any input with the club to pass the message on? I've also noticed the ticket office standards have slipped this season and seems understaffed on the occasions I've been in.

Just thought I'd mention it that's all. ✌️
I’ve heard beers pumped straight fromt Kop Bog floor

Yesterday was terrible again - in the Laver Stand corner of The Kop there was only ONE person who was actually able to pour beer - he was running up and down because none of the "cashiers" were capable of pouring a pint that equated to an actual pint. Given what they must pay staff, the club is losing money through this ineptitude - I saw so many punters just give up. United really need to spend just an hour - that's all it would take - to TRAIN the staff on duty - it would be an investment on the day alone, even if they never came back! And secondly they need to pre-pour beer - why is a surprise folk are ready for a drink at HT?!

Was my first game at BDBL this season yesterday and was looking forward to a half time pint, even at the inflated prices.
From previous experience went to queue at around 15:40. By the time the second half started, still had not got to the front of the queue and gave up. After all, I had primarily come to watch the football!!
Absolute shambles and I can only imagine the money lost by similar actions all around the ground. We would have spent around £20 between us and so multiply that by…….
Several posts have suggested ways to improve the process and speed things up. Surely, someone from Compass (or whoever is running the show) should take note. It really can’t be that much of an issue to pre-pull a load of pints and run the risk of chucking a few away.

From what I understand this is a third party company that provides catering, so it's not up to united to train them at all. It's up to united to demand fucking competance.

Ditto regarding the queues and still questioning why the 4 kiosks next to the bogs out G block on the kop have been closed. Daughter wanted a bottle of pop so left on 39 mins to queue. I've attached the pic I took (remember this is before half time). Arrived back in my seat on 58 mins and missed 2 goals. Feels like we've gone backwards big time
