Birmingham :-
We were shite

Swansea :-
We improved but not enough

WBA :-
We had our 2nd string goalkeeper, and our back 3 were not intune with themselves or Verrips, this combination allowed us to be bullied in our own area

Huddersfield :-
We had our 3rd string goalkeeper, with a new central defender
We drafted in NRD, and stopped the stupid backpass slow build-up
We totally outplayed Huddersfield, and reverted back to overlapping Backs
But the new central defender was not O'connell even though he bolstered our defence quite well
and we eventually succomed to the long ball with the back door open,
if we manage to get a striker who can score in with the Rammers money, and Davies gels better with the overlapping fullback system I think we'll progress.

I'm optimistic that we have been improving since the Birmingham game, and will turn the corner in the comming games

Predicting pelters for suggesting another striker. Other than that 👍🏼

This was always going to take time.

these players are husks of what they were. They’ve been smashed by everyone and their dog for nearly a year and a half.

it’s been about 15 months since they won a league game with anything actually riding in it. We were down effectively before we won a match last year - so it was always going to be a slow process.

we’ve yet to actually back the manager with any tools to do the job properly. Leaving him with no ability to get the job done his was - I think all you can ask is to see his ideas getting across.

I’ve no idea if we will sign anyone but it’s clear that that’s the only way this improves significantly.

We won't come good until we stop having one tactic of knock it wide and cross it in, then when that doesn't work, pass it back and hoof.

We'll come good when players make off the ball runs into space for players to pass into their feet, or keeping the ball and running with it instead of playing hot potato and shirking responsibility. If we stick with the norm then the norm of not scoring and not winning will continue.

Every opposing manager knows to sit back and flood the box when we have the ball, and not put pressure on whoever's got it, so they can snuff out the inevitable cross from wide. It's painful to watch. The only way we can score is from free kicks or a corner and we all know how they pan out.

In other words,WE'RE DOOMED.

No not just yet

Billy Sharp showed he still has what it takes at this level
NRD will only get better & show more with playing time
Berge had his best outing, and is far too good for this league
Bash & Egan work well together
McBurnie is not my favourite, but at least, he does show a physical side to his play, and he can get his head on a ball ( his overhead kick wasn't bad either )

Give the Slav time to work

Would just like to see a goal or goal attempt that is not a culmination of a cross.

Cant remember last time we scored a header either in a league match. Egan was it ?

Agreed, I think we outplayed udders for most the match. Start sticking the ball in the net and results will come.

Really do need to bolster the squad to help do that.

amazing how after 4 games how slavs record is identical to Wilders
Im convinced we can improve but its more a mental block than a physical one
We just are not showing any belief in our ability . an ability we had in year one in the prem-
its there but not coming out

SOLUTION

Sit down and show them the Villa game when we tore Bruce's mob apart 4-0 at half time or something.

The best I saw the Blades play since the AWTC days. Absolutely brilliant. That to me is the way to go.

Some of the players have got used to losing, i dont think it hurts them anymore, we need changes just to remove some players from a losing mentality, these players havent become bad probabally just not confident at the time beign. A few winners brought in will soon turn it around ,then watch us go, i for one still predict play offs as a minimum

TBF I thought Norwood was pretty solid in the last game, excepting set pieces.
I don’t think many will agree. He was getting dogs abuse from around where we sit. He was marginally better than the fat Glaswegian though.

We desperately need a centre forward/focal point

If we buy a striker with the rammers money we should play 3-2-5 and have rush goalie/goalie wag.
In all seriousness, we need a keeper and midfielders not another striker.

Was it mcgoldrick v spurs ?

You thought Swansea was an improvement on Birmingham?

We've got thousands of them, we far more desperately need some creativity in midfield to put chances on a plate for them
We've got Sharp and, if he ever gets a look in Jebbison.

Apart from that they are all support, wide or deep lying forwards

We desperately need a centre forward/focal point
i agree with you there to make this 433 system work we need a player like mitrovic who slav had at fulham and mcburnie isnt the answer all he wants to do is throw himself to the ground fight the opposition and whinge at the ref
