If we lose on Saturday...

I think we should all cheer as loudly as possible and applaud every time we pass it short to a defender on the edge of the six yard box from a goal kick. It gets the possession stats up.

To be honest I am just going to laugh and soak it all in. Weircanovic is on for a series of 10 defeats but no goals scored at this rate.

All the home games since lockdown and us turning shit (bar one) have been in front of an empty Bramall Lane. Bash and Billy will remember the Clough/Adkins days when a similar veil of shitness descended upon our world and we failed to deliver. The first game back we had a packed BDTBL and GCB hollered out with gusto, yet those down on the pitch served up a seasoned shit sandwich of a performance which resulted on us meekly capitulating and losing. What must have been going through the twenty odd thousand minds as they filed out from the game must have been pretty ripe. Since then we've looked outstandingly average against Swansea and dismally well below par against WBA. All of it without a goal.

The crowds are back. They have reinvested their hard earned and their faith in a disastrous collective of professional football players many believing we'd be well above the Championship standard this time out and have at least five or six points by now and a few significant goals, to broadcast we were bruised by last season but not beaten. The players need to understand the expectation, the achievements and the legacy of our club, our badge, our strip and our place in the city. They fucking should do. I was in that fucking car park two years ago and if they didn't get it then, I am astounded they don't get it now. It's one thing getting battered by a better side but showing your mettle. It's another simply recycling a failed style of play and being surprised the opposition has an answer for everything and simply stops you on every corner.

I was at the last meeting between HTFC and us. Everyone who supports SUFC knows what a massive disillusionment followed the final spot kick which condemned us to several more years of obscurity as a football club.

We need to win, and we need to win big, and win convincingly, or the fans will not forgive them and continue to not forgive them. We've had one moderately good season in the sunshine in nearly thirty years. The club and it's supporters demand and deserve more.

We need to win but expecting (or hoping for) a big win with style is unrealistic.
I am not expecting quality football until October and even then I may be disappointed !

Depends on the team he sends out
Depends on the way he tells them to play. They should forget all that defensive shit, WBA put the fear of God into Verrips and defence last night. when they were trying to play their way out of the penalty area. WTF -its not Rocket Science.

Erm... Is that a euphemism?
oh-yes.jpg

However shit Hudders may be with Wes or Verrips in goal they are still likely to score at least two.

That means us having to score at least three to win.. on what we have seen so far that seems extremely unlikely.

I'm more interested in what will happen when we win 3v0......Berge will once again be the best thing since sliced bread, and Slav will be up for a knighthood!

We're shit, it's an extension of last season, and we're playing like tossers, but I'm not yet reaching for the rope and step ladders😂.

We did and there was. Plenty of teams have turned things around after 3 league games but we probably need 4 more players or it could be a v long season like last year.
I don’t think booing the team will ever help.
I totally agree,i would never ever boo opposition players, never mind our own, i hope we get the 4/5 players we need.

3 games in & people are already at breaking point ffs. Even Wilder couldn't get this lot winning again (look at last season if you ever needed proof). People seriously need to calm down a little & give Slav the time to get rid of the deadwood & bring in his own players (yes it's going to take time) but don't blame him for the mess Wilder left us in.

It will if we go 2-0 down or something. Not 100% sure but i heard we've only had 4 shots on target in 3games ffs. That's not good enough

Good. I hope it is. They've been getting away with this shit now for over 18 months and all we've done collectively and benignly is resign ourselves to the fate that came our way.

The players need to understand the expectation. They did two years ago and delivered. What changed? We changed a keeper and lost a centre back and the team went to shit.

Much the same as when our centre forward was banged up for rape, we just collapsed.

It's just not good enough.

Intriguing parallel. Wilson’s lack of plan B with no Ched Evans. Wilder’s lack of plan B without Basham.

I don’t get those saying Wilder put us in the position that we are in now.

I will accept by position you mean championship, but not our position in the league. yes we failed in his 2nd Prem season so he dropped us into the championship. However surely people don’t believe we are a poorer squad/club now than we were when we got promoted from League 1. We are pretty obviously a bigger better team/club than we were when he took over. Due to a huge overhaul of tactics, ethos staff and line up we are now shit. Mcburnie, Brewster, Sharp and McGoldrick are all very decent goalscorers at this level whether it be under wilder or under other managers at other clubs in this league.
Our midfielders would be welcomed into a lot of teams in this league and have proven themselves part of promotion winning teams in the championship, Our defence minus O’Connell have proven themselves to be solid in the premier league rarely conceding many.

I would love for Jokanovic to go back to a back three, play the players in a formation they recognise and get some points on the board rather than try push a new tactic on them and lose the fans, league position and the players within the first 3 months of the new season

Agree Pomp’s and I said it last season
I love this club , and have done since my Da first brought me to a game , but some of those charlatans who gave us those performances were poxed we weren’t in the ground to see some of that shite served up last season ,
we can be loyal but we won’t accept being taken for fools
We can accept being beaten , we ain’t Man City we know we can’t buy 100 million pound players.
But we expect our players to show as much fucking pride in our shirt as we do
If we get beat on Saturday we get beat
It’s how we get beat that’s important

We are in this position because Wilder spunked Millions on players who simply aren't good enough, there hasn't been one stand out player who was one of Wilders buys, he played a certain way but was sussed out by the time our second season in the premier league began & the majority of his buys are league 1 standard apart from a couple. He invested badly & now we're paying the price for it, if i remember correctly we had the lowest wage bill in the premier & Wilder quoted that nobody was going to be on silly money hence why no real quality came to the lane he thought that he was building a squad good enough to get us straight back up if the worse happened ....... That's why i blame Wilder

Wilder spent the money. He signed the players that we are now stuck with. He, in his words "spunked" north of £100m on players that have failed to deliver.

He should not, and does not, for me, get a pass on that because "he's a blade."

Fact is, he spent more money than our club has ever spent, and he left us in the shit. If he felt he had to leave for the sake of his mental health, then ok. But we should not excuse the mistakes he made. SUFC is more than Chris Wilder. We're in a terrible situation now, and even the most ardent Wilder-ites cannot realistically say that he isn't in some way reponsible for it.

I can see it being one of those Days tomorrow when the clock ticks around to twenty to three and you are serisousl debating whether to stay in the pub or not.. had a few of those in the Adams and Adkins days when just watched the scores come in on Soccer Saturday.
