Crunch Time - 3 Windows in 12 Days

It’s not hyperbolic to say this is probably the most important 12 days for the club in the last 2-3 years. In my mind we need to fold the equivalent of 3 transfer windows into 2 weeks. The neglect and mismanagement of the squad has meant we need to somehow find 6-7 players that can comfortably walk straight into the first 11. And now we need a goalkeeper too. Do we have the money? Do we have the right targets? I’ve absolutely no idea, but if we go with this group of players we’re in trouble.

Recruitment has been shambolic but the performances have been getting worse from the same squad by and large that finished a prem season with a new manager who collected a respectable amount of points at a much higher level.

Slav was brought in to manage this team, not to build a brand new one with an open cheque book. 10 games is usually a fair incubation period, so I’ll be drawing now conclusions for now.

I agree to a certain extent, but there’s no way a club of our size should be in a position where we have to take a punt on youngsters because the first team have been allowed to rot this much. Slav hasn’t exactly excelled to date, but this team has had 3 managers and achieved the same results. I think (hope) it’s just a case of him overestimating players that were in the Premier League 4 months ago. Total shambles not of his making, but we need to see his mettle now.

I fear that it is beyond the club in terms of resources and actual organisation to sign more than one decent player before the window closes. We will end up with crap young loanees and Robinson type filler.

SJ said he wants another 4 bodies in which, i am sure is doable. The Ramsdale money will clearly grease a few wheels and imagine we'll see movement soon

The issue is these players have all got to be on the money. Recruitment, even at the best of times, rarely delivers 100% success rate. We need these 4 players to be top end championship quality and hit the ground running in thr first team, and have the skill / leadership to turn around a sinking ship.

From what we've heard it'll be along the lines of

GK
Defensive Mid
Attacking Mid
Wide Forward

Get Henderson-esque signings and I'll back up to turn good and finish top 6. If they turn out more like Woodman it'll be bottom half at best

Us getting at least four new players in 12 days is just not going to happen looking at the speed our recruitment team works at, by comparison the pigs bring in a new team in the same time we bring in a loan player and that lot are not even sure they will get paid.

They get a free pass in January because we obviously weren't in for anyone, but the recruitment team have badly let the club down this Summer and last. Chasing unattainable targets, failing to get deals done before the onset of the next ice age, missing targets to rivals while they were hung-up on chasing rainbows.

N'Diaye, Ayari, Brunt and Slater would all add more than Norwood and Fleck offer at the moment. Then there's Freeman. There is no doubt we have options, but maybe Joka thinks if he uses youth, Prince won't want to spend.

When we couldn't fill a bench under Wilder in the PL he refused to put youngsters on, why? Maybe in protest of the board...

You need to get some proper sleep and find a way of getting this built up anger out of you. Perhaps Foxy needs to introduce a tap out function like the betting firms do.
