I could see DW going in for Alan O'Brien as well (also a Swindon player). He was talking about our lack of wingers and he is a pacey left winger. DW signed him as well I believe.

If Fulham end up getting Slew, do you think their fans will be justified in feeling hard done by because he's a striker from the 3rd Division? That's two divisions below them, not the one between us and Swindon.

Or do you think they'll wait and see what he's like.

Just sayin'.

I wouldn't be overly concerned if I was a Fulham fan. That would be because since 1997 I would have had a chairman who puts his money where his mouth is and seems to have a consistant record of appointing decent managers. I would think, well, if it doesn't work out, i'm sure there's plenty more decent days ahead in a sold out ground every week, where my team have an excellent record.

BTW I should emphasise the point that I sincerely hope this signing, and all DW's signings, are majorly successful. I will obviously give him the benefit of the doubt, but it would be fair to say I'm not exactly excited. As I said earlier, we won't be making marquee signings this summer though will we?

The proof is where we are in the league.
If we had signed better players who had some professionalism about them then maybe we would not be looking at the likes of Jean-Francois. Fact is we are - fact is that Swindon were relegated last year with a goal difference of -22 after conceding 72 goals. Compare that with Blades -35 and 79 conceded. Seems right up our street then.

Fans who have seen far better players in 40 years of watching the Blades
Also witnessed some absoulte tripe as well. Far more tripe than fillet might we say.

Interesting what you write there and if it's also correct that despite their terrible goals tally conceded, Wilson didn't even play him much, then it beggers the question as to why?

I think I'm underwhelmed!

Let the BBB's commence. Let the morphing into Swindon begin.

Incidently. has their fitness coach signed yet?

Hmmm, for 'cult hero' I read shit but tries hard. As we've lost Nos we could do with a new one I supposed, doesn't every team have one?!

A new one! We need a new one? We've got the prototype! The Maestro himself.

I hope he signs Jan Aage Fjortoft as well. He's a Swindon player.

If you're referring to Craven Cottage, it is far from "sold out" every week. I've been to a few games there in recent seasons and there have been many empty seats. Oh, and I know some Fulham fans who can't stand their chairman. So it's not all rosy on their side of the grass :p

If it's this french fella, then it's a bit of a meh signing. Thought we'd be signing more experienced players to be honest

Rather sign some young , quick, athletic players with potential rather than the getting on a bit, slow, cart-horses we've tended to go for in the past.

I just think with the amount of youth we already have in the side, and the inevitable departures of some of our established pro's we need to replace them. I'm not alking 32, 33 yr old cart horses, i'm talking 28 year old experienced, good, League 1 experienced players

Ahh yes someone like Michael Doyle...

Mcallister, Tonne, Philliskirk, Lokeberg, Warren, all members from the Development Squad are more than likely going to feature, we could also see appearences from Long, Harriot, Kenndy and Macfazden and possibly others from the youth squad could be fringe players as well.

Confirmed on OS, can we make things easier and forever refer to him as Lecs?

Good to see Wilson get 'off the mark'. I would have expected Wilson to be looking for experience at the back, but hey. I thought he'd be looking for an old head to play alongside Maguire. But with Morgs and Ertl both experienced and can play CB, perhaps he wants a couple of younger more atheletic lads to play with either.

The area needs strengthening so I cannot complain too much. I only hope that this paves way for getting rid of Collins. I would much sooner play Maguire and this new guy ('Lecs') than start with Collins.

Will you be as happy with signing JP McGovern who is next to be signed??

Wonder if he'll get the no 11 shirt.........:(

First of all, "Lecs" is odd, because in his name it's the other way around, Lescinel

Secondly, what is his name? I've seen both Lescinel Jean-Francis, and Jean-Francis Lescinel. The latter seems to make more sense...

Nos Mark 2...woop!

From the sound of that write up it'd be best to not play him centrally.

It's Lecsinel in his Swindon Town site profile, and in the news saying he's left:

This could be one of those Iffy Onuora situations, where about 80% of the time his name was written incorrectly as Onoura.
