Questioning the manager

He’s doing a good job of it himself.
I honestly can’t see what the plan is.
It looks random.
Fleck on the right?
Ozzy at left back in a four against an aerially competent side?

Four attackers and no midfield when we all know midfield is the key issue?
Brewster as a winger?
Play two in midfield against a Swansea side who retain possession better than most - negating Berge’s forward runs, which have been the only positive at all.
No - let’s just drink the coolade and neglect what we can see.
I don’t see any evidence of a plan, a style, a process, a clue.
If the answer is wait until new players are brought in then that shows we are fucked. There won’t be a restricting of that scale. If you can’t get a tune out of what there is already there then it’s going to be a long, long season.

He's kept Ramsdale and Berge, which means loans, loans take the piss time wise if you want anyone decent. Plus the added hurdle of covid and quarantine.
Don’t think a couple of loan signings are going to drastically change anything. Davies isn’t exactly a colossus in the air and Viera isn’t much of a creative midfielder we’re crying out for.

Last I heard, the two clubs were discussing the move for Ben Davies at managerial level.

Just imagine, two forrin blokes negotiating for a player in their second language?

If it’s true that Ben Davis is coming, Slav needs a pat on the back, after CW took so long over Brewster.

FFS, IF HE'S STARTING A PLAYER THAT HE'S ALSO MADE BE KNOWN HE WANTS OUT... WHY NOT..

IT'S REALLY REALLY EARLY DAYS BUT, I AM NOT SHURE.. I'M FUCKING REALLY NOT SURE ABOUT HIM..SORRY

(OLI BURKE)

Has Slav made it known he wants Burke out, or are you thinking about a post in the Ben Davies thread?

Hi, Stegosaurus here

He is clueless. Reckon we're in for a relegation fight. Give him 5 more games. If things dont improve, get rid of him.

Or we'll leave it too late, like with Wilder. We could have beat the drop if we canned him early on.

People want to get their leg over, but don’t want to buy the dinner, drinks and listen to the boring stories. Like anything worthwhile in life, it will take time.

That’s said, there’s always Hecky if we want continuity rather than taking the time to implement a whole new system. 😬👀

We were warned beforehand by both Fulham and Watford fans that Slav is an excellent manager, but takes a little time for things to gel, so I can't understand why there is a need just yet to panic. Slav quite clearly is trying to introduce a system that fits the players he has. He knows that the present squad is not sufficient for the system he prefers, plus it's taking time to get the new players he needs before deadline. The players as yet are not sure what that system is and understandably as a result are floundering.
It will take time; it's a long hard season for every team in the Championship, but I have no doubt that there will be a game in the very near future where it will be a 'flick of a switch' moment where everything will come together, where Slav will know his best system and the players will understand it and the new players, whether it's two, three or more will have bedded in. Then watch us go.

Surely the chairman has told the manager he's got time. With so little preseason the first two games are the only chance he's had to see players in a real match situation.
The whole playing staff was built round five at the back and a lot of us have said for a long time that some of the players who were great in that system wouldn't be right for other set-ups like a back four or wide frontmen. Hopefully Slav will see this but he doesn't have the benefit some of us fans do 'cos he hasn't watched us solidly for the last five years.
Currently he's serving soup with knives and forks and it's very messy. He's said he wants new players in but I'm not sure he knows exactly who they'll replace. We might have to accept that in his preferred system there ends up being no place for favourites like Bash and Didsy and that somebody like Osborne or Norwood ends up being an integral part of a new plan.
I don't know but I think that if the chairman is giving him time then I've got to too.
Once he's done all the deals I'll give him ten games before I call for his head.

I know your a little bit odd and crave the attention and on the wind up but i will bite, why give him 7 games, 8 if you include the cup, what is special about that number? If he's such a terrible manager why not sack him in pre season and really wet the bed. You do realise that the limited funds that we seem have, will be even more limited if we blow millions more making a managerial change after 7 league games. Anyway congratulations for making me respond to your ramblings.

From what I've heard that was one of the players brought in over CW's head.

His reluctance to play him adds some credence to that claim, but at the same time CW looked genuinely pleased to get Brewster in. Same with Berge, looked like a proud dad when he signed.

My 'over his head' signings are Verrips, Retsos & Zivkovic. Squad fillers at best.

As the saying goes, things have got to get worse before they get better. These players have been so drilled into playing one style for 3 years that it's going to look messy and uncoordinated.

It's just a shame we didn't start deprogramming these robots halfway through last season and get them trying something different but that's not Slavs fault.

I think the Fulham fans said it might take a few months before he sorts things. The game he sorted out in was against us 5-4. ! That style will do me. Watford fans said exactly the same thing so why people after 2 games and no pre season think he has not got a plan I really don’t know. The reality in my opinion is the squad is now not fit for purpose. Ageing players in key roles and no creativity at all. We all saw it last season and we all knew it needed sorting. It never was and now we are left with some poor players that we paid over the odds for. No point blaming people as it doesn’t solve the problems. This current squad is at best mid table in my opinion due to a complete lack of balance. New manager is going to need a year to sort this out and if he does it before hand then all credit to him. No people shouting about getting away tickets either !!

Decent win for you yesterday, despite huffing and puffing for 70 minutes against the mighty Doncaster.

"Hi ho...."

Saying Slav should go is completely stupid, and it will take time to build a team and some confidence, we all know this.

On these first two displays though I feel there’s enough evidence for him to highlight our glaring deficiencies to the board as a kick up the arse for new blood.

These players are struggling, and every area needs a look currently. I feel it’s going to be a season of stabilisation as it stands.
