Well, it certainly wasn't £90m before relegation so halved, it'll be covered by the parachute! :)
Sure, but there are other costs, like the transfer fees and all that on top of our running costs which we don’t cover.
Any training ground upgrades, any transfers they're all on top of what we can afford.
Long and short is there’s no lots to go round.

If selling Ramsdale funds SJs squad fresher then it needs to be done.

The alternative is maybe no one comes in of high enough ability and the present squad continues to slide.

Anyone who thinks that we will suddenly turn things around and become promotion favourites without some balancing of the squad is deluded.

We need to freshen things up at the back and in midfield and bring in some creativity.

Let's face it that's a good deal. I did not think we would ever recoup our outlay never mind make a profit on Rammers. He was like a rabbit caught in headlights and a liability for the most part last season with some bad goalkeeping habits. He vastly improved only once our fate was largely sealed. If this means we can keep Berge for longer and get in some much needed additions it's good business. I suppose we have Southgate to thank for Ramsdale's enhanced profile.

Fans wanting to sell ramsdale so we can finance a QPR keeper and a 500k winger from Crewe is finest example of we never think like a big club.

Fans wanting to keep 'a name' when it's clear there's huge gaps in our squad and not much cash due to relegation is the finest example of not thinking.

Big clubs sell players when it makes sense too.

All too easy to underestimate the value of a top keeper. Showed what a quality player he is already and will become with an amazing turn around last season.

No way should we sell in my view. Any profit made will be gone on an average replacement.

That's all well and good, but what happens if we go with option 2 but don't get promoted?

Personally I want us to cut our cloth accordingly, and don't leave ourselves with a giant problem if all doesn't go to plan.
Sell them two mate and the plan plotted will be championship football for the foreseeable future

That plan was plotted when we were absolutely honking last season.

If we get promotion in the next couple of seasons coming off the back of that with a demoralised fanbase and squad, which is ageing or thin in key areas, it'll be a surprise not the obvious outcome.

Every chance that Dieng is as good as Rammers. I just think Rammers probably has a higher ceiling of potential, but nowt guaranteed. I don't think we are acting like a 'small club', it just makes sense in the face our financial changes to look at selling 1 valuable player, rather than more

Colourful table of various PL goalkeeper stats last season:

If the truth is that you are embarrassingly negative then still no. I'd imagine being that miserable could be painful though

Ok mate, cheer up
Supporting a team that is shit in the transfer market shouldn't upset you so much

Just laugh about it

Seen it all before. What benefit is that price going to give us this season?

We’ve made the investment in Ramsdale and Sander, now we should take the benefits of them being here this season to have a proper go at it.

i hope i am wrong, but what i am predicting is that Rammers will have the exact same predicament at Arsenal, leading them to looking for a new keeper. Rammers will then end up on loan to a lower-PL/Championship club

Although we all know that the fee touted would be very good for our club.

Let’s remember that all of the stuff on social media that the majority of arseholes fans are spouting (many of which have never set foot in our country), won’t be doing Ramsdale and his renewed confidence any good. We don’t know if he has expressed the desire or been told to join Arsenal in the first place. One thing I do know is if he doesn’t perform, those fans will be after him, it could be a very bad career move.

Depends how much we have to spend of it. 24 million would get a top end championship replacement ( if we don't go with verrips) plus one or two other top players

if we can get enough money for rammy that would enable us to bring 5 quality players in to the team we wont be needing a top class keeper to keep us in games we should be on the front foot and in front in most of them as much as i rate rammy i think overall its a good deal for the club lets get a couple of midfielders in and get some chances created for our strikers
