Slashed Tyres?

Look for nearby homes with CCTV or doorbell cams. We have CCTV and whenever there is a local issue police ask to see if we caught anything

Get a front and rearview dash cam, they are very wide angle esp the front viewing one, it could help identify the twat/s doing it nest time you goto the game, perhaps even put them off, you can get a decent one for 60-80 quid, put that against the cost of a new tyre/s.
A friend of mine had his car vandalised a few times where he lives in Lichfield, pointed this out to him, he bought one, left it plugged in overnight got the twats doing it on video a few days later, showed it his local copper, two days later they were identified and arrested.
I live around Lichfield, surprised at having a car vandalised there as compared to some of the places in the Midlands it's quite refined!

We got a tyre slashed last night on Clough Road?😡 think he/she did around 8 cars! We didn’t have a spare but luckily we are gold AA members, members for years and years and we had roadside recovery so everything was good? we called the AA and told them we had a flat tyre and we had no spare, the nice lady on the phone said they would send out a van but they were very busy and it might be around 2hrs! She then said how did it happen and we said ‘the tyre had been slashed’ then she said that HO! that would be ‘vandalism‘ and she would not be send a van out!😡 So, to cut a long story short (after arguing with her for around half hour) If you ever get your tyre slashed don’t tell the AA the truth“ just Iie and say you don’t know why the tyre it’s flat!!
If that's the case cancel your AA membership and go elsewhere.

If you know me you'd know this wasn't about money or anything but to see if they could let other people know what happened and be weary of the situation and parking there.

Full of wonderful ideas you, aren't you? Maybe they could organise for McBurnie, Egan and Basham to rappel down the front of some random old biddies house (SAS style) on the street, let them all know we're not fucking about?

Maybe we could extend this scheme to other areas? Lost a cat? Oliver "Pet Detective" Norwood will be round in 5 minutes. Let's get Billy Sharp on a pottery course, 4 days a week, just in case anyone local breaks a tea cup, etc...

Maybe just try and be a bit nicer?

If you're going to attempt to take the moral highground, you should probably do it before you reply with "Well you're a right pleasant little nob head aren't you?" 🤷‍♂️

I'm guessing that, then he might just require a new window when he returns next week??

Not to stick my oar in, but the thread is about people having no respect for others and being dickheads for no reason. Maybe try wondering why that is rather than adding to it.

I never mentioned anything about people slashing tyres. Of course they're dickheads. They deserve catching and/or being giving a shoeing. That's the default position, it doesn't need stating at the start or end of each and every post.

But WTF is the point of complaining to a private company about something that happened several streets away? Seriously, what do you expect them to do about it? How could they respond in a way that would make you happy? I'd suggest you'd be better off channelling that energy into writing to your MP to complain that the police won't investigate something that is classed as a crime (although that will also make absolutely fuck all difference).

No excuse, but probably kids with nothing else to entertain themselves with. So even with CCTV and evidence, doubt it would amount to much. Druggies would be on the rob in the car.
Ha bless 'm . I can find them something to do if the poor little things are bored and may be send their dad the bill. Thats IF of course it is kids if it is youths just give the bastards a good kicking and then send the dad the bill.

If this is an isolated incident and doesn't happen again, then they're not going to be bothered. If it becomes a regular occurrence on a much bigger scale, many fans will be put off going to the game if it means they have to fork out a couple of £100 to get new tyres every game.

I know it's nothing to do with United as such, but in days gone by, you used to have police cars patrolling around the lane as car stereos were getting nicked left right and centre. Maybe SUFC could request police presence during the game in the local area ?

Problem is mate he WILL be carrying a knife , would you tackle him knowing this fact !
If I saw him slashing car tyres - in particular mine, then yes I would. Not something I would necessarily advocate but not everyone is the same.

This is a serious question (I'm not living in Sheffield), is crime a problem in the area around the Lane?

I know that crime happens everywhere, but is crime generally a problem in this part of Sheffield?

No there's no problem at all ( Sorry for been sarcastic )

Man dies in Sheffield double shooting near Bramall Lane / Clough rd

I think if car tyres were being slashed in say the Waitrose car park they would certainly be putting pressure on the Police to do something about it. Would I be right to say SUFC contribute to the bill for a police presence in the surrounding streets on matchdays?

There have been plenty of murders in leafy villages which generally have no, or very low crime.

I take it from the sarcasm that it's a high crime area?

No. They only pay for policing in and around property they own (the stadium). That was the case for a time, but it was (successfully) appealed.

Yes as are all areas full of student accommodation, usually it is burglaries and other petty crime. I have noticed drug dealing in the area when leaving the lane.

Driving around the area (not that street) in the past 18 months was an eye opener, as nearly every single building had "for let" signs outside, suggesting to me that maybe the entire area is usually let to students?

If I swung a golf club I'd either miss or slice it!

It'd be ok if you sliced somebody's throat open with it though, in the same way that they'd be wanting to do to you with the knife

The most basic ingredients that keep us alive and happy are oxygen, water, warmth, food. These basic ingredients are in short supply and these twats don't deserve a share when so many people around the world are struggling to stay alive because they haven't got enough of them.

I’ve never lived in Sheffield and there might be some decent areas, but from what I’ve seen going to matches, I wouldn’t fancy living in any of the houses within a mile radius of the Lane to be honest.

But to be fair, that’s also the case at near enough all football clubs that haven’t moved grounds in the last 30 years. Unless you pay to park you’re always running the risk that you’ll come back to a car with some sort of damage.

Got a dashcam, they don’t record all the time, it is based on the inbuilt gyroscope- which didn’t set off as it didn’t record a thing between me leaving the car and coming back.

Last 18 months, the students have been at home - all landlords had boards up
