No game this weekend due to Covid

I know this cant be helped. But Doesn’t seem like the best planning to have only 3 games this preseason. 2 so close to the start of the season. One against a completely pointless opponent.

We also went away unnecessarily and presumably had to isolate in return due to Burke and verrips.

Not the best start the the season, and doesn’t give Slav much time get his ideas across at the start of his reign.
 



hopefully we can find a replacement opponent, such a shame I was looking forward to this. seen that Burnley had their match cancelled too, maybe they can do something there. or there is a lower league opposition just down the road...

Think the trip to Spain was essential got them away from Shirecliffe got them out of their normal routine, hot weather and forced them to focus, talk, learn, try a new training regime without any distractions.

As for Slav getting his idea's across again, its not just restricted to what they do on the training pitch, they will all have been given 'homework' videos etc
 
Play 1st half team from last night against the 2nd half team. 1st team would have to work hard to beat a team determined to show the manager what they can do.
 
Won’t be the last short-notice cancellation. The Fixtures Secretary will be VERY busy this year.
 
bit of a terrible pre-season. Some of it (obviously) can't be helped but some of the decisions probably need looking at for the future.

Burnley would seem the obvious one to replace Norwich another one against a local non league side for the lads who haven’t had many minutes in preseason would probably be ideal as well.

Guaranteed 3 points against Burnley as well.
 
What happened to the annual Chesterfield pre-season ?
 



We playing Basegreen again? Throwback to the Warnock days.
