"I hope that when supporters hear me or read what I have said that they believe that I am determined to move this football club in the right direction…..this club is massive and if we get the juggernaut going it could take some stopping."

Go on Danny Boy. Shove our words back down our throats and lead us to League One glory.

I hoped that Blackwell would get us up.

I hoped that Speed might get us up.

I hoped that Adams would keep us up.

I'm not holding my breath with regards to Danny Wilson. I'm sure many if not all Blades would be very happy if under Wilson we stormed this league and managed back-to-back promotions to get us into the Premier League. That might just be what it takes to win most Blades round, but I can pretty much guarantee that if we falter he'll find the fans will show far less patience with him than they did with any of his predecessors.

I would love it if he managed to get us promoted - I'd be happy with any manager who managed that - but it's not just the end result. How we do it and who we do it with will have a massive bearing on the matter.

Still, succeed or fail, he'll be gone long before I will.

I could not agree with that more. Well said that man.

You can't knock his attitude.Support the team, support the manager, support the players, keep the faith

Whether we like it or not, we all need to move on now and accept that the decision has been made.

At the end of the day DW will have my 100% backing as his success is SUFCs success.

The converse of this is that wanting DW to fail is wanting SUFC to fail.

Stay in Edinburgh feller. Go watch Hearts and forget this shower of shit in S2

SUFCs in my blood now, so walking away isn't an option and neither would I want to.

I've stated on previous threads that DW isn't my choice, but now he's here how can we want anything other success for him.

Agreed.

I was completely against him getting the job, and he would be near the bottom of my list for the job, but we can't change anything now. We have to get behind him and the players if we're to have any success, and this squabbling won't do anybody any good.

Let's get on wi' it.

I've actually met Danny on a couple of occasions and above all he's a reight nice fella. I hope he gets off to a flyer and he wins round the fans. I don't think he'll be bothered about being an ex Wendy lad, so maybe we should also be big enough to put that to one side?

Let's get behind the bloke and fingers crossed we can get ourselves out. Decisions aren't going to be changed now so best we all rally around.

I simply cannot bring myself to get behind Danny Wilson, and I never will. I'll support the team - I'm nothing if I'm not a Blade - but I will not ever praise Wilson. Ever.

As for Mccabe - oh for gods sake. He can't fuck off fast enough for me.

Whoever got the job is doomed from the start the board don't back managers with money they are only interested in what they can sell for a player for.
Get ready for the firesale even the youth aren't untouchable it won't be long before we hear the old, Slew was sold in order to strengthen the squad in other areas, we all know that the strengthening never happens.

Just seen the full announcement and, got to be honest, that is the best interview a Blades manager has given in the last 3 years. Under extreme circumstances to boot.

Personally am gonna put this to bed now. Wasn't my choice either but tis what it is.

IF Wilson (And McCabe) are true to their word and are willing to put a major emphasis on the playing "style" then thats good enough for me.

IF Wilson can manage to foster a siege mentality amongst the players that was so obviously lacking last year than that will do for me.

IF Wilson can integrate a handful of the young uns in to the 1st team squad with some degree of success than that will do for me.

IF Wilson can attract some decent technical footballers to the Lane and at the same time offload Blackwells cloggers than that will do for me.

And the biggest IF of the lot is IF he can do all this with the financial constraints that he will no doubt be working to then he might, just might, turn out to be OK for us after all.

There has to come a point when, in any dire situation of sorts arises, a turning point, a phoenix from the flames, triumph through adversity etc etc. kicks in.

Just imagine BDTBL - A happy place again. A place we all look forward to going to every fortnight rather than the chore it has been of late. A place where fans sing, laugh and even cry rather than fucking moan.

A place where footballers are positively encouraged with chants like "Its just like watching Brazil" rather than "Your not fit to wear the shirt"

Good luck Danny.

You will surely need it.

But good luck.

Leigh bromby, alan quinn, del geary-all ex swines turning there way to the light from the dark side-and admittedley were all crowd pleasers-whats the difference with wilson-if 20 years ago we signed him under bassetts reign to play for us,surely he would have turned out the same.
Lets get the smokescreen out the way and move on-good look D DUBYA!

Maybe Danny can tell us about his day out at Wembley in April 1993 .......

I just wish he hadn't got the Wednesday connection because all the media are using that as why we don't want him. I don't want him because he is crap and has a very poor record in League 1, he could have Blades tattooed on his forehead but I still wouldn't want him.
Has anyone else wondered who the other 11 managers that Mcabe interviewed are and how bad must their CVs look today. "I lost out on a job to Danny Wilson"

would you want the job with all of the knob head supporters already sharpening the knives behind your back?
the reality is that the hiring and firing must stop-theres no fast taxi back to the promised land with our budget.put up or piss off im afraid

There's been fans doing that for the last three managers previous, I find it bizarre now that some of them are questioning others that were once level headed, when some of them have been far from that at times. The tradegy is this has split the fans massively, cracks were there but this seems to have really torn a rip through the heart and soul of people.

He will be gone my Christmas and we will be in the bottom 3. He has one promotion in 10 years and he doesn't has what it takes to get promotion. Ok. we may get a PO final, but so did B KB, but next season will be bac to relegation.

Can we let him have 10 mathces before we start to give him grief? Every manager deserves that. UTB
