I prefer Wilder, by this point in the transfer window even if we'd not signed anyone we all knew who his targets were and it meant that we could start a really long thread and that the other club could increase the price to something only a set of idiots would pay.

All this cloak and dagger from Slav makes me think he's shifty and actually trying to do a deal for the right price. Not the kind of behaviour we should encourage around S2 in my opinion.

If he doesn't come out and tell us how many season tickets we've sold to the nearest 0.5 person I'll lose even more respect for him,

We‘ve had some very articulate managers, Dave Wear, Nigel Atkins, trouble is, they were useless

Agree….Weir and Adkins are both probably the most optimistic I’ve been about a manager appointment,

Weir talked about his obsession with playing proper football, a patient possession based short passing game.
To be fair we did play this style under Weir and initially looked good…think the plan was to use Kevin MacDonald as the centre piece around our new style.
but he was sold early season and then we struggled with consistency regards short passing, eventually someone would give the ball away and they’d score.
Weir brought back memories of Micky Adams….where after listening to post match interviews you became worried about the managers mental health.

Nigel Adkins was a brilliant talker, so up beat and positive and I admit I fell for it.
I really enjoyed his early pre and post match interviews but after a while I realised he was full of shit….finding positives when there were none.

That Scunthorpe home game is the worse I’ve ever felt supporting United.
I thought..if the best qualified manager like Adkins can’t get us promoted then no one can.
It dawned on me we could be in lesgue 1 another 10 years and become like a Bradford City or Notts County.
Even when we appointed Wilder I wasn’t enthused…just assumed he‘d join the long list of failed managers.

It's obviously not his first language. Yes interviews are part and parcel of the game, but it's incredibly difficult to understand regional accents, I struggle as a language graduate and an expat of 10 years, so I sympathise if the interviews feel more of a chore to SJ. As you say, let's let the football do the talking.

It doesn't appear to have caused Bielsa too many problems at Leeds. Not a word of English, always relies on someone to translate. In the main I think it's down to the players to make an effort and carry out the manager's instructions.

I get the impression that when SJ isn't very forthcoming with information regarding potential targets when pressed by the media, it isn't because he's keeping his cards close to his chest, it's because he's as much in the dark as the rest of us!

I've always been overjoyed whenever we've gotten promoted to the top Division ,
and then deeply disappointed we never have enough money to stay there........
