Will it stop the well known Blade who hitch hikes everywhere from going to the games?

I can't see many people willing to stop and pick someone hitch hiking up due to the fear of Covid.

It'll be such a shame to see such a fantastic character lost to the club.

As he’s on here I’m sure he’ll reply. There are so many “perceived” and real risks to hitch hiking I’m sure a little pandemic won’t put off hikers and those willing to offer them help. I loved hitch hiking between the ages of 17-32 and had some great experiences.

It's a nightmare to get the blood out but for some reason they get suspicious if you cover your car with waterproof sheets.

You're far more likely to be murdered by someone you know than a stranger.

Even had a woman pick me up along the Finstown Road late one night, she survived. And you can't get much more rural and risky than that.

14yo, stranded in Stocksbridge had to walk back to Chapeltown. Thought i was going to die of exposure so i tried my hand at hitchhiking. After an hour of cars whizzing past me a brand new porch 911 pulled up! Engine roaring! i thought to myself, yes! cant wait for me mates to see me climb out of this badboy. Bloke got out. Oh thanks mate i said, could you drop me off down Chap please? He looked at me disgusted and said FUCK OFF. Had a piss and drove off.

Turns out it only took a couple of hours walking, not the 3 weeks id initially thought AND i found a dead badger!

In the 50s, I was 7 years old and returning from Devon with my mum and dad and we picked up a hitch-hiker.

He was unwell and sat in the back of our van with me. He had what was then called Asian Flu.

I got it, and as a result, caught a lung condition that I have to this day and has lost me 40% of my lung capacity.

I've never picked up a hitch-hiker and never will.

Didn't an "incident" with an embankment (or something similar) prevent you travelling to games in your usual way due to you being incapcitated, i seem to remember you posting about it...

It only put me out of action for 6 weeks or so. The last time I hitchhiked was the last game I went to - Norwich at home.

When I fucked my knee they said it would be a life-changing injury. When he saw my look of horror the consultant said, "What I mean is, an operation may be successful or it may get better on its own, but it's doubtful that your knee will ever be the same as it was."

Ah well. I've adapted to life with a bit of a hobble and a limp, not to mention the almost constant pain.

We'll adapt to COVID as well.
