my prediction is we will average 27k+ with no covid restrictions.

07/08 we averaged 25k+ after our last pl stint, but this time everyone is gasping for live football, we have appointed a brilliant manager and we recently were pushing for a europa spot, plus the pigs are in dire straits meaning we will win a few more neutrals into the ground

with the current covid restrictions i would imagine we will average around 10k

No - I think we’ll be considerably short of that. Even with no restrictions, a lot of people will still be wary of crowds. Others will have very tight finances, and some others will have been put off by the performances last season. I suspect that a lot won’t commit to season tickets and will wait to see how it goes (both COVID-19 and SUFC performance). If we do well, we’ll average something like 21 or 22,000. Do badly, and it could be as low as 16 or 17,000.

Truly impossible to know.

The plan is for everything to be open fully in a few weeks but I still see people in the middle of the countryside with a mask on so obviously some people will be wary!

You have to take into account the "Sheffield" factor and what Sheffield City Council and the safety executive will do............ "for the good of Sheffield" of course.

When every other city is back to normal, every bar, restaurant, club, shop, car, bus, tram, taxi, stadium, arena, theatre, cinema and street in Sheffield will have reduced capacity.

I haven't seen anything anywhere that says crowds will be allowed unrestricted into football grounds, that alongside the fact that autumn will be just round the corner and the vaccine isn't giving us our full liberties back we had prior to March 2020 makes me think at best we will have 50 percent capacity max. So id say we will have an average of around 15. Maybe.

Hi Stegosaurus here,

No. I think I can speak for everyone by saying we aren't interested in seeing Championship football. At least in the prem, there was the chance of seeing some genuinely good players appear at the Lane. In the Championship, we can all get excited at being graced with the likes of Martyn Waghorn.

Dropping to the Championship is like being kicked out of bed by Jessica Alba and having Pauline Quirke as your rebound option.

And your club could be league 2 next season too!

Think you being a little too pessimistic mate. Even in league 1 when we were truly shite we averaged 18-19,000 with 17,505 being the lowest. I reckon we will be around the 24,000 mark with fluctuations depending how the season goes

Have you got your refund yet ? Taking a long time isnt it
You will be lucky to get 10k welcoming the likes of Morecambe to the Theatre of Rust

Don't think we will purely based on covid rather than demand.

A) away fans may be restricted
B) capacity may be restricted
C) we have to respect their will be those who still feel vulnerable around large crowds.
D) human behaviour has changed i believe. Those potg fans may have reduced through other interests bring found.

You do talk some crap
Every team coming down from the Prem holds into its support

Except Wendy of course, theirs fell off a cliff

My points were more about Covid and finances though, so we’ll have to see. It only takes 20% of people to be worried about crowds to knock 6,000 off.

I'm not worried about Covid per se there's more chance of me getting a blow job off Kylie Minogue than it impacting on me.

I don't want to go to a game and have to wear a stupid mask, follow one way systems and have jobsworths watching me like a hawk in the ground.
