Come on SUFC , let's have the ugly truth.

Have we beaten our post-war record low for a league match , without even coming close to the Covid limit of 5,076 ?

I am SO EMBARRASSED for my Club and its patent ineptitude.

Get pussy-whipped by a pussy called John Lundstram.

Mismanage our best manager for decades.

Fail to replace him in time for the new man to assess the squad.

Charge £40 to witness relegation in person.

Anyone would think the Club is being run from feckin Belgium or Saudi Arabia !

Oh , wait a minute ........

You mean Wilder got pussy whipped by Lundstram ?
How did the club mis-manage Wilder ? Wilder fucked up the first half of the season ( and the period of last season affter lockdown). He would have been sacked by many other clubs sooner. Wilder walked away as he couldnt work out how to reverse the situation.
The club have made a decision about prices which was mis- judged i agree .
Maybe they are waiting for the new manager to end his existing contract before announcing ?
Why is that embarrassing for our club ?

Monday morning feeling mate or just got out the wrong side of the bed?

5098 was the Covid limit wasn't it?

Hardly fair to compare it to other low attendance games when they didn't have a government mandated attendance cap.

I assume Bettis was around, so there's our board representation.

I bet all but Crystal Palace have absent boards considering travel restrictions.

Also does next season start today? Everyone's on holiday now for a couple of weeks, as long as we have a manager when they come back he's got plenty of assessment time.

Embarrassing that we still know nothing of a new manager now the season is over apart from the play off finals. We really are a rudderless ship at the moment which is not good for anyone associated with SUFC.

West Brom don't know who their manager is going to be either, so at least we've got company while we're floating aimlessly.

Why does it matter if we know? What benefit is there to the fans being told any sooner or later?
Season ticket sales is the only thing I can think of, and they're still going to be available right up till the sell out, or throughout the season.

The players know they'll be a new manager coming in and have known for a while. I'd also suggest they probably have a decent idea of who we've approached and are waiting on a response from.

Maybe the potential new manager is involved in play offs

Glad that so many of you have found a basis for hope out of thin air 🙂

Two promotions and PL finish of 9th in five seasons.
Gave a manager over £100m and publicly said he could stay even if he didn’t win a single game.
Fail to replace him in time even though our next game isn’t for nearly three months.
“Pussy whipped” in that we play Lundstram because he pay his wages and if he’s told to play, he will go out there and play.

£40 is a mistake I’ll grant you, but anyone embarrassed by Sheffield United these past few years needs to take a long hard look at their own sense of entitlement.

The Prince has a lot riding on the next manager so have to get it right this
time .He will be fully aware its dragging on
Does that matter as long as we get it right.
Maybe , maybe not.
But having followed this Club loyally for 53 years , only 7 of which I've lived in Sheffield and having held ST for most of my life , I am askance at the lack of engagement.
I certainly don't mind getting relegated - it's happened often enough and I'm philosophical enough to remember the joys of 81/82 after the shock of 80/81.
But the cumulative effect of the issues I mentioned has obviously affected most fans , otherwise the Burnley game would have sold out to folks with 40,000 points or so.
There are some fundamental questions being unanswered by the Club at the moment.
And HRH might be a good guy , but he is a businessman who is not intrinsically linked to Sheffield.
So I will always worry about his commitment , not necessarily in terms of finance (although he did get us on the cheap) but more in terms of how closely he pays attention to the Club.
Especially after this season in which certain situations were allowed to drift too far when set against the eyewatering £ involved in getting relegated or surviving.

Our manager went 3 months ago, WBAs went a week ago...and it seems they are now linked with Jocanovic.

We appointed an interim manager to the end of the season, and got Tindall in within a couple of days didn't we? They said it would be until the end of the season and it was.

And everyone gets linked with Jokanović by the press, it's just the done thing for championship clubs in need of a manager, just like how Allardyce turns up with short odds when a Prem team needs a new manager.

At least people got to see the players at least once this season (poor sods) but, 40 quid was showing totally how out of step United are with the fans. Does the attendance really matter lets face it it's governed by a pandemic, something we've never had before; trust me we've had poor crowds but it matters not.

And next people will be saying what's the rush, we don't need a manager until pre season...this is a massive rebuilding job and the sooner it starts the better.

They're literally not in the building though at the moment are they? They're all going on holiday. We need a manager for when they get back 1000%, and for when the window opens on the 9th June, as long as it's done in the next 10 days or so I'm happy.

I’m glad you’ve found a basis to complain out of thin air
If you don't feel disappointed at the moment as a Blade you must be a robot. Maybe the concept of being a fan is being eroded as we chat , and soon we'll all be mere customers of the SUFC business ?
imho , once my lifelong emotional engagement with the Blades (since to he 1960s) has finally been blasted of me by the club continually reminding me that I (and the rest of the Shoreham Boys) are not important to it , why should I not treat my consumption of football as just another purchase in the marketplace ?
And since I've lived in the Manchester area since 1983 , that purchasing decision would be to give up my Lane ST + buy a better product at OT or the Etihad or indeed both.
The soul of football has been steadily eaten away over my lifetime , but in clinging to its remains , I am unable to relinquish my pride in my SUFC and the pain & embarrassment I feel when it blunders or fails to get a grip of a situation.

Funny , but that's exactly how any right-thinking Blade should feel after 12 months of shit.
It doesn't mean that the person is "over-entitled or inappropriately impatient" , just Keen to see the Club reassert itself.
And anyway , back to the to thread's original question - does anyone know the official attendance or will it remain forever a mystery ?
Just asking.

You're forgetting one factor.

Many people with 40,000 points or more will be older people (like me), possibly with underlying health conditions (like me), who are still taking precautions not to get Covid (like me).

I desperately wanted to attend but I made the very difficult decision not to, even though the ticket price for me, and many others who would be eligible for tickets was £30 not £40.

I'm sure I wasn't alone in making that decision for those reasons.

Disappointed is one thing; crying like a spoilt toddler is another.

Also: good luck in getting a ticket at OT for a 'better product'.

Finally: Tells other Blades what they should be thinking; threatens to go and support another, top-4 Premier League team. Either you don't understand the concept of irony, or your troll game runs deep.
