Paul Heckingbottom says it's unlikely Sander Berge will feature again this season.

The Norwegian international has picked up 'natural niggles' following a recent return after a long-term hamstring issue, which the interim boss stressed is unrelated to his impeding absence.

Oli Burke suffered a fractured foot in last week's defeat to Crystal Palace at Bramall Lane, but at this stage Heckingbottom says it's unclear whether or not the Scottish international will require surgery.

Chelsea loanee Ethan Ampadu (pelvic) is another player not expected to play again this term, with Heckingbottom revealing the Wales international has often featured with the problem over the course of the campaign.

Significant game time for two, three or four of the promising young lads as a reward for what they have achieved at U23/U18 level, hopefully.
Given the opportunity to do this with no real risk, if we see the 'walking shitbags' like Lundstram and Stevens take the field yet again after the abomination of a season they have had, then we'll have missed an opportunity.
I Don't blame Heckinbottom for covering up for the 'Berge injury'. He's under instructions, understandably.
Like a lot of the players, though, I wouldn't be shedding a tear if he left the club.

Only Everton's competitors for a European spot will be looking at what sort of a side we put out tomorrow night.

So it'll be same-old, same-old tomorrow night to avoid the wrath of the FA, then a youth and 2nd XI blend for the Newcastle and Burnley dead rubbers, especially as:
  • we'll want to rest our in-contract players
  • there'll be pressure to rest any international players headed for the Euros and
  • our out-of-contract players apparently don't even want to try and put themselves in the shop window!
...and another couple of possibly important games for us managerially this week; if our board ever thinks of making a special working visa case for Blessin...

Add in the provision of housing, private health care and insurance, private schooling etc all paid for by the club, if criteria is still, down to his level of experience, it might well create a precedence, but hardly have a huge detrimental effect, on UK jobs
 



I'm just fucked off I didn't know this before choosing to transfer in Antonio and not DCL into my FPL team.
