That petulant insurance wanker child prick with “Leeds alpha syndrome” deserved so much more than a lightly bruised black eye for what he did. Either way we don’t want or need Mcb in the team, he adds nothing on or off the pitch. Now wilders “give a chav a chance” program is over hopefully he will go somewhere else with a few other poor performers like Lungbrains who would be much better suited to remedial welsh clubs like Swansea and Cardiff.

Let’s just hope we are onwards and upwards in the champ whatever happens & we can move on without all this crap from our “star strikers”

So "that petulant insurance wanker child prick with “Leeds alpha syndrome” deserved so much more than a lightly bruised black eye for what he did", but it's OK for you to talk shit about "the chav" and "Lungbrains"? Why is that? What makes you special?

Oli has a huge part to play if we do the sensible thing and play to his strengths. Yes he wins a lot of headers but that's not what he does best, it's just that long balls are an easy option for players low on confidence. He's a goalscorer but goalscorers need service. Watch his goals for Swansea and Barnsley, the majority are scored with his feet when he gets the service.

Same with Brewster. Liverpool fans were saying he was on of the best/most natural finishers they've ever seen, but we've not given him anything to finish!

Oli and Rhian up top for me next season, with some money spent on a creative midfielder.

There is no law stating that you can't take photographs in public. This includes taking photos that include other people's children or taking photos of children directly. An offence will, however, have been committed if the photographs taken are indecent.
Are you doing you’re Sgts exam? 🤣

Putting aside the "offence" as it is innocent until proven guilty and all that. For me any professional footballer needs to have a long hard look at themselves by putting himself in that situation. He is supposed to be recovering from a fractured foot injury he should be concentrating on rehabilitation on the injury rather than going out drinking in North Yorkshire. (Knaresborough is a town with alot of pubs in close proximity quite a lot of Leeds fans there) There is still a drinking culture in the British game where I think they could do themselves alot of favours by staying at home.

Unfortunately he lives in Knaresborough, what would you have him do turn his home into a prison? He could move to Sheffield a city with a fair amount of Wednesdayites to harass him it don't really matter where footballers live they should be able to go out and about without harassment from drunken yobs.

Suggesting footballers should stay at home and have no social life to avoid trouble is as ridiculous as saying they shouldn't use social media so they can't get abuse.

They have as much right to enjoy life and use social media without being abused as anyone else does.

Ridiculous comment Stu, why can't professional footballers go out and enjoy themselves just like any other human being?

Because they play football they should stay in like hermits. Are rugby and cricket players allowed out too?

You can't expect people to live like a recluse, or a hermit, because of the job they choose or how much money they earn. Surely a lesson to be learned from the last 12 months is the effect that being locked away has on people? Wealth has no influence on that, the need to go about your normal life is a profound one.

There doesn't have to be sides on this, it should be accepted that whilst what Oli did was wrong (although some would say understandable if the circumstances are true) it's equally wrong for people to think it's acceptable to harass people and the people they are with.

Come on Stu, are you really having a go at him because he lives in Knaresbrough?!

Let’s just force all footballers to stay at home, whilst us normal folk get to do whatever we want, and hey if we see a footballer out when he should be safely tucked up in bed, let’s all spout some abuse at him, that seems fair.

I agree, saying he shouldn't go out because it's risky to do so, is like when people say that women shouldn't walk alone at night because a man might rape them. It totally misses the fundamental issue at play and shifts the blame to the victim/potential victim.

The daft thing is, I think many top footballers do end up living in a closed environment curated by clubs, agents and hangers on.

We need more Olis on the streets. :)

Surely drinking is great rehabilitation if its numbing the pain in his foot?

Interesting point. Look what happens to some of the ex pros when they come out of that environment. They're only cosseted whilst they are useful to these clubs, agents, and hangers on.

Yep,

I remember hearing Ruddock on the wireless after he had retired saying, that it really hit home to him how well looked after he had been during his playing days when he got severe toothache after his retirement and he didn't know what to do.

Previously he said " I would have just rung the club and they would have sorted it for me"

Take the fact that McBurnie is a professional footballer out of the equation and/or that the video went viral and does anybody really think that he would have been arrested? Laddo may still have reported it and the police may have spoken to McBurnie about it but that would have been the end of it. I’m not condoning what McB did but far more serious incidents happen every weekend between men in that age bracket and nobody bats an eyelid.

I agree.
And women who go out in short skirts and get raped. It's their own fault.

Obviously ruffled a few....... Which is good for a debate and opinion forum?

Mcburnie is on £1.5millon a year if I was on that salary I could quite easily kill the social life to concentrate on getting back fit and being ready for preseason working on weights and rowing machine etc. It's easy to remove yourself from a situation and don't rise to it, granted there could have been an assault on him first and what you are actually seeing is him acting in self defence however it doesn't appear that way. We will wait to see the outcome of his arrest however it doesn't do anything PR wise for a club looking for a new manager

Just trying to work out...

If this hassle had been going on for as long as is being made out, why didn't he just report them to the police for harassment and stalking?

(apologies if this has already been addressed and I've missed it)

I think I've got the answer to all this. Players should only be allowed to go on the lash in the bit of the town or city that is frequented by the supporters of the club that the player plays for. So our lot can go in the barrel, cricketers, Barry's bar and the crown when on the lash. They can have their tea in a salt n bettered (Mcburnie mainly) saigon 68, kurdistan grill and the potato oven. If they are feeling a bit tired and achey from all the effort they've put in this season they can go to one of the fine massage shops for a massage and to unwind. All in the knowledge and safety that nobody will call them shit cunts or take the piss....probably.

I can imagine that conversation.
'Officer, some young blokes have been really annoying, when I go out, and making fun of me'.
'OK sir, we'll get a crack team of detectives on it immediately'

Well no, it'd go more like...

"Hi, I'm the lawyer of a Premier League footballer who is being consistently stalked and harassed despite repeatedly telling them to leave him alone. They live in Knaresborough and this is what they look like"

"Ok, we'll send an officer to take a statement and then get them in for questioning"

And then, given the evidence on their own phones, they'd likely be hit with an injunction or restraining order.
