We will be "held to ransom" by every agent of every player we attempt to sign this summer.

That is what agents are for and that is why it is so bloody difficult to recruit the players you want.

It is not the fault of the Board, the manager, Trev, or anyone else.

It is just the way the game is these days.

We will win some and we lose some but at the end of the day it will all be decided by money and we will lose more than we win.

Just a sad fact of the changed face of the game.
 
Quite right Maidenhead...it explains my cynicism too. What an indictment on our team of the last year....Monty player of the year?. I have defended him for his effort and committment many times over the years but I cannot see why he assumes such importance or is that a reflection of our ambition. I wonder if he had not been voted POTY would he and his agent be sticking it out!

After all your drivel and indecision about wether you were serious or joking towards posters, the fact remains Monty's signed being the right person at the right time while the club is struggling, we need abit of loyalty. Killa's gone, Money grabbing waste of time. The Board and Monty thrash out a deal, realising the importance to each other and where the club is at the moment.

Congrats, you managed to keep it going all through May

I see that you've managed to confuse yourself a little. However this surprises me very little form reading your posts. I bet you were itching with excitement when you heard the rumour that Monty signed. I'll show that Olle! But your post shows nothing (other than you being a clown).

I tried to put the thread to bed a hundred times over. However some planks (you being the prime candidate) who couldn't grasp the meaning of the post and why it was set up just kept going on and on and on.

I'm (reasonably) happy that Monty has signed. In my mind I never doubted his loyalty to the Blades and even if he had left it could have been argued that he was still loyal.

You seem determined to try and have the last word, so go ahead ......

Great news about Monty, a very very rare thing Loyalty in football these days. No one much is moving in the transfer market so to get him signed is at least one thin settled.
This thread has been going almost as long as his stay at United:D

It seems though that the only confussed clown on here is the one waring a Gorilla suit- Now he likes Monty? doesn't like Monty, cannot be serious its all a joke:confused:

As for the maestro. After months of stalling he finally signed a lucrative new deal. He's since then captained us into the relegation places. Where were when Morgs was captain? Safe. Monty took over and we have pummeted. Never mind plaming cheap as chips mark II (Ale house Micky) it's Monty's fault!! Just proves he isn't committed to the club.

Will Ploddy still be around next season? Something tells me not. Still he is the 'heart and soul'. I'll tell di wot, this wunt appen to United with me captainin em. No fuckin way. I'd av them fookers playing for me. Just like Morgs wud.

Monty will take his 500k from United this year, after captaining us into relegation, and then get his dream move to Leeds. He is a Leeds lad and boyhood fans you know.

look at the dates on the thread. It was last season we were talking about. They beat us 2-1 at their place. Monty gave away a penalty with a typically clumsy, over excited, ill time and bundling challenge.

(later we conceded a soft 25 yard pea roller, when Bunn got down to the ball like a grandma - but if you ask Swiss we were not missing Kenny :rolleyes:
