Nice to hear how the stars of tomorrow are figuring. Some will make the grade, some won't, tough game.

I know we all have varying opinions on players it's part of what being a supporter is about but, how can some of the views be so different, I read these posts regularly and I realise Roy is trying to give a balanced view of their opinions but some of them seem to be watching a different player, my worry is, who's got it right?
Thanks for taking your time on this topic Roy, much appreciated.

In terms of RND, the comments come from the last 2 months where it seems his performances have gone from great to bad to good which is probably why the views are all over the place

Strange we wouldn't let Swindon send Smith back if he's not playing.

Surely we could have found him another team to loan to or have around U23s.

RND does worry me a little with his tackling. If you play him as LWB and Slater as RWB then I'd be hiding behind a pillow.

“I can only speak from experience of watching him comer to the city ground with the likes of QPR & Sheff Utd. I can tell you he often strolled through our midfield with relative ease using his own half as the starting point. Granted thats hardly a ringing endorsement, but he was a player who travelled freely with the ball, at pace.
Based on what Ive seen, he’s a player who travels with the ball in space, rather than a player who operates in traffic, to that end, he works in either of the last two approaches.”

🤔 Came to the City ground with Sheff Utd?

That Verrips lad sounds good.
I think this is one worth keeping an eye on. No pun intended.

Despite an error against Sparta he has made a very good impression. He's conceded 8 goals and kept goal in 3 wins, 3 draws and 2 defeats. 2 of those draws were against Feyenoord and Groningen away from home.

He's faced 34 shots on target giving him a very respectable 76.5% save ratio. It was 77.4 before today's game where Emmen conceded a last minute goal in a 3-1 win.

In terms of save % he's behind only 2 in the league, Nick Marsman, the Feyenoord keeper and Onana, the Ajax guy. Ramsdale is 68.7%.

Before he arrived, Emmen had taken just 6 points from 20 matches and conceded 49 goals. Before he arrived they had a GD of -32, which has improved by +2 in his time there.

His face didn't seem to fit because maybe he was a JVW recommendation. Maybe a new manager takes a fresh look.

I just wonder whether he gets a crack, impressing in the neighbouring country to Belgium if that is where the new coach may come from.

If West Ham were to make a bid, how many Champ clubs can retain a 20m+ keeper? Look what happens when you do with Stoke and Butland, gone for a pittance. Plus Rammers loses the U21 gig with his age so he'll need exposure to push for National honours.

Might not be one we are looking to move on but not overly far fetched.

We've not had the chance to see Verrips properly but I think he might be pretty decent from everything I've seen and heard.

Might be too good for a number 2 but I'm no fan of Foderingham.

Disappointed with Freeman. Thought he was a good signing for us but his performances and conditioning over the last year hasn't looked great.

We really should be thinking it is great to have him back for next season and hopefully that's the case, I'm just not convinced.

Thanks Roygbiv BTW

I wonder if Luke Freeman might be in with a shout when he comes back to us given the new manager coming in? He's got skill, just needs the fitness by the sounds of it.
A bit like mousset then. Good player if he could be arsed to act like a professional football player.

Great work Roygbiv

Verrips seems to be getting cult like status for Emmen. He was highly rated when he arrived with us Bizarre didn't get more game time tbh. (Guess it fits with Wilders foreigner views)

Hopefully the rumours are true and Coulibaly follows Blessin over as he likely does meet work permit requirements as pointed out by Flatulent_Bob and Ball_Sup (Phil) (actually doesn't seem that hard to achieve after all)

So exciting to see these young talents plying their trades... i really hope our next manager gives Slater, Coulibaly, Verrips and RND a real chance next season - That would be the Midfield, backup GK and LWB slot sorted thereabouts

Slater hasn’t held down a starting place and had only recently forced his way in with league one Hull. You think he’s ready to play in a promotion chasing Championship side?

Thanks Roy

There is, of course, the oft ignored issue of what Work Permit, Governing Body Endorsement, Sponsor Organisation legislation Blessin is going to use to be able to work in the UK.
