Todays 'news' in The Sun is Wilder in contention for the Burnley job should Dyche depart for Palace - now we know The Sun isnt always the font of knowledge, but I could see some truth in it.

2 questions that would pose in my opinion

1 - Is this a gamble by them? are they getting CW 19/20, or CW 20/21? I can see the synergy between the clubs, working class, lower budget, mainly UK players, but if I was the Chairman of Burnley, would the posturing of CW in his last months concern me? Personally I think he will get a crack at it.
2 - more importantly to us, will this start a chain of transfers? Dyche takes Tarkovski to Palace, or he goes to Everton when Dyche leaves, CW then looks at Egan or JoC as a known replacement. Pope has a good Euro, goes to a bigger club, does CW come in for Ramsdale? Would Burnley offer Berge a double your money offer to stay in the Prem?
How many other CW disciples could we/would we be bothered loosing

2 months ago if you said someone came if for Rammers I'd have drove him there myself, but he seems to have found his game now, and I reckon a season in the Champ will do him good, and he will be a solid No1.

If wilder gets a new club and comes back and raids our players, I will consider him to be a bit of an arsehole
Come on a raid?. It would be like breaking into a bank at 9.30am and been the first customer. Be nowt but a bit of copper in the safe. You would be worried if he took a job in league 1 about a raid.

Can we jump in and get Dyche instead? Much cheaper in Sheffield than London, he doesn't want to be living down there really. The only problem will be if he's partial to John Lewis.

Are we gonna have this at every link? Move on ffs
Every time Ched Evans moves club/breathes/scores/assists we get a bump of the Ched thread, he scored a few goals one season and got sent down on the back of some twattish behaviour.

It's not unreasonable that the bloke who achieved 2 promotions and a 9th place PL finish gets a bit of an airing on here is it?!

What’s the actually point. He’s walked away get over it. 2 promotions and a 9th place finish? I give you the worst start in PL history, threatening to quit at least twice etc.
Grow up and move on, bet you pine over your ex don’t ya

Not the actions of someone who loves the club is it, imo
He will be employed to do a job by another club. If that involves getting players from us then that is acceptable as long as the price is right. If he doesn’t buy them then others will if they want to leave.

If they pay the going rate, which we accept, why should it bother us who's paying?

We all now know he operates on a single target so if he wants any of our players all we have to do is stick it out and rinse as much as we can out of his next club

Haven't a clue of the likelihood whether this could actually happen but to me it wouldn't make much sense.

If the new owners at Burnley are wanting a change of manager (which would be a great mistake IMO, they should keep hold of Dyche) then Palace could be a decent albeit sideways-ish move for Dyche.

Following on from that I'd find it a bit weird why Burnley would be interested in Wilder. OK he's from a similar mould and similar values to Dyche but not as good. So if they're happy to let Dyche go (who's definitely proven at this level) for a fresh manager then why bring in a replacement in CW who is essentially of the same profile? In that case they may as well just keep hold of Dyche in the first place!

I think it’s Dyche who wants the move rather than the other way round.

Well I for one am glad that media speculation now regularly extends to links to jobs that aren't even available yet. Dyche to leave Burnley AND Wilder to replace him. It's a two for one in the mindless rumour department.

I'll help him take Jack Rodwell, Jack Robinson, and that road runner Burke, nearly forgot Lundstrom😊
