We don't have a billionaires backing' Considering the injuries and being unable to gather much depth with our budget of a smaller club in the PL . It is no surprise that we are looking at relegation.
It is tough that we couldn't make two seasons after Wilder brought promotion, but it was a tremendous feat beating those the big clubs last season.

Not being in possession of the full facts, I am struggling to accept the opinion that Wilder has been shafted.

Admittedly decisions have been made that frustrated him, but his own performance this season seriously undermined his bargaining power with the board.

I just wonder whether both him and the Prince could have budged towards each other a bit more, if they had wanted to, and pride hadn't got in the way?

I think Brendan Rodgers is probably not far off the mark in saying Wilder realised early this season that he'd taken the club as far as it could go with the finances and ownership it has. He's an ambitious man and has never hidden that. I can see European football with Celtic as an appealing option for him.

I agree with all that and on top of that there has always been a uneasy alliance with him and the prince and now it has come to a head and the only people to suffer is the fans because there is no question in my mind that Wilder was the man to lead the charge to get us back up again.

Celtic and Rangers could play without a Manager and they would still be number one and two.

Even if Wilder did stay, I don't think it's a case of chasing promotion next season, it's a case of trying to stop the slide and having a go the season after.

The damage done this season won't just get better over the summer.

If you're in your car doing 70 and you realise you're heading the wrong way, you don't just slam it straight in reverse. You've got to park up, have a look at the map and pick a different route.

Wilder built the squad and picked the team
It is clear for anyone to see that the squad was unbalanced with ageing players in key position and due to the fact he had wasted resources in bad signings, little resources to improve. It was subsequently a total rebuild, to do that you have to admit mistakes.
I don’t think that Wilder wanted to step back a d start again and don’t think he was the type to admit his own mistakes. He subsequently left.
