Adams resignation declined - RS last night

Don't often hear P&G but caught a bit near the end last night where a caller claimed that Adams had tendered his resignation last week and it was declined. The presenter didn't challenge the rumour or even sound surprised - is this common knowledge or just someone putting 2 + 2 together?
