Imagine the atmosphere at last game of the season

If Covid continues to reduce we will be allowed up to 10k? in for this.

Can you imagine how toxic the atmosphere will be if, as I suspect, we won't pick up many points and get a couple of hammerings between now and then? It will be no place for the faint-hearted.

I've got a feeling than Lunny might get a mystery 'injury' so as to miss it because he would be the most available target for people to vent their pent up anger at.

I am gutted we can't go to a game prior to this as I could really do with a day at the Lane whether it's toxic or not!

Can't see it being toxic.. all the "I'm done with the club" folk won't be at the game otherwise it's a bit.. hypocritical.

Could equally be toxic at the final game had Wilder stayed but between fans especially if we continued to struggle to get results.

Just imagine we've gone on an incredible run and, we need to beat Burnley to stay up if this was the case no way would it be toxic. Yes fans will remember CW but the club comes 1st, last and foremost to fans, it could turn out to be a time to celebrate & to remember past memories.
 
If the club has any sense, the last game of the season will be a send-off for Chris. Get the backroom team out before the game, make nice speeches and say thank yous etc. Give the fans a chance to thank all the players who were part of our period of success.

As much as I'm desperate to get back to matches, I actually think it might be for the best not having fans at present.

Whilst most fans respect what the majority of this squad have done for us, there are one or two who would have got the brunt of the frustration for both this season and Wilder leaving.

That's before you get to the toxicity aimed in the direction of the boardroom, fairly or unfairly.

I think we all know that an uninspiring managerial appointment and a disappointing start to next season will have the natives restless anyway.
 
I won’t be toxic, despite this season, these players and staff always deserve our backing. Vent your anger in a different way. We don’t know the ins and outs of what’s happened

Ted I've just learned to go with the flow as you will have, after losing 4-0 BD I came home to my ex wife and threw Christmas Tree in garden saying Christmas was over. Over the years you get used to unhappiness but you imagine what it would be like to have some success so build up an imagination.

When I was at school in seniors we used to get free tickets to see England Under 21s at Wembley, I always said no as would only go when we got there. I honestly never thought we would, and when I went in 93 my first thoughts were what a bleeding shithole this place is.
 
I am still angry, even more so after that performance yesterday.

People slagging Wilder off 'for the crap we have had this season' or for 'the shit he has left behind' cannot see that this same shit is all he ever had and he got us to a ninth place finish last season. He got the players playing way above their natural levels. Yes he has made mistakes in his transfer dealings and was not perfect. Even though this season has been horrendous I am 100% convinced that we will be worse without Wilder.

The toxicity that I mentioned in the original post is going to be off the scale by the time of the Burnley game. All the blades I have contact with are all incredibly pissed off and angry, this anger is not going to magically disappear. I genuinely am amazed at the anti-Wilder sentiment from so many posters on here.

Do you feel more positive for the future now Wilder has gone?

Your constant sarcasm obviously amuses you - does it make you feel good?? Football is a passion for a lot of people, yes we might look a bit daft getting so wound up but that is how it is for me and lots of others too. Do you intend to go to the Burnley game and take the piss like you have been doing?

If you're a Blade you need an imagination you obviously haven't got one, it's got me through some interesting situations following United it's not all beer and skittles like last four years. We have actually as fans and a team been to hell and back, well metaphorically speaking.

Not only have we lost the manager who had us challenging for 19th but I'm potentially going to get beaten up by some emotional men. 😱

I get where you are coming from Ted. I think Wilder would have taken us back up next season but that is done and dusted and now and we just have to hope that the decisions taken by the owners work out. Just because the current situation reminds us of all the times we have fucked it up in the past doesn’t mean that we are automatically going to fuck it up this time. Hopefully we will get a few more wins before the season ends and then the owners will introduce a new management team that we can all get behind.

It will be difficult for the next coach, unfairly so, simply because he isn’t Wilder but if we get off to a good start playing attractive winning football then the hangover of this season will pass. It is difficult to feel hugely positive because of all the the previous times we have seen similar scenarios at BDTBL but personally I’m trying to be optimistic. This time next year we could be going for promotion and this shitshow will just be another part of our Bladey folklore.

Wilder has been the best manager Ive seen at BDTBL since John Harris but that era is over now and it is time to crack on and make some more memories.

Absolutely.

Couldn't have got much worse and you don't recover from situations like this.

Would have been nice to resolve it nicely and Chris leave through the front door but I suppose football's not like that anymore.

Got respect for Wilder for the past but he's handled his team's fall from grace terribly.

New chapter incoming, should be a laugh. Just a game innit.
 
They'll remove every trace of Wilder's time at the club. All fingerprints removed.

As we speak Adkins motivational messages are being dusted down and put up around the corridors.

The big screen will show the goals from the 5-3 FA Cup semi final defeat.

Agree....most of the toxicity will be found on social media....from Blades that don’t go.
It will generally be a positive reaction from the fans with an air of sombreness and acceptance.
To be fair the players have battled well and shown effort in most matches....so they can’t be criticised too much.
