Long term this could provide one or two cheap talents who improve us then it becomes worth it. Everyone is at it though.

Work permits will become a problem now that we have "taken back control "

No freedom of movement in Europe so presumably any incoming players will have to meet qualifying criteria like international appearances and the like.

Won't affect the top players but could have a real knock on a bit further down the pyramid.

So we have got promoted and been given Premiership TV money which we are spending on acquiring new clubs whilst not spending on the main club in January.

If we don’t spend in the summer we should riot but half of our fan base just say the same old we spent £90m etc.

I would rather us not have United world and another £10m player in our side.

Another chairman throwing darts at the world map. Man City have plenty of these partnerships but how many players has it produced for them?

Opens up some potential foreign scouting avenues for us (yes...FOREIGN!!) I suppose but I dare say there are cheaper options than buying a bunch of totally random foreign clubs you might only ever encounter on Football Manager.

I mean, White Star Woluwe, Ferencvaros, Central Coast Mariners and the Chengdu Blades partnerships were roaring successes weren't they...

He's spent the money to bring in players that no other team in the league wanted, then left us hanging in January.

He's backed us in a financially responsible way and I'm happy with the model, but lets not make out Wilder got Watkins, Cash, Robinson and Swift in the summer.

No, I’m saying that the Prince has to approve every player who comes in or goes out of the club, either on loan or permanent.

You said, he has provided the funds, its not his fault the players didn’t work out, as though he has no knowledge of who we’re after or any involvement in the actual process. It was actually a light hearted comment really, but you’ve clearly got a string hanging, so I’ll indulge you with a reply.

So to answer your question, albeit with the benefit of hindsight, yes I most definitely wish he’d said no to some of Wilders transfer requests.

McCabe's aims were completely different ,away into countries property markets ,the football clubs were just a smokescreen

I was being a bit of a dick but it's starting to feel like the manager is more important than the club. Not saying you in particular, it was just that post I fell on
 
It's worth remembering United World bought an existing Indian Football Club - with fans, a ground, an identity - shifted it to a different town 30 miles away, changed it's name, badge & kit colours, completely rebranding it for their own selfish reasons. The game stealing grifting bastards. Coming soon.....

I think this is more the Prince wanting to buy clubs around the world, rather that furnish us with opportunities to buy players from said countries.

By uniteds standards we have spent cash by Prem standards we have not. 20 mill for a striker is nothing but chicken fodder to the prem ,to us it is mega money.The successful clubs in the prem spend that on squad players who might never ever get on the pitch or are loaned out to other clubs who pay their wages.The other problem is even if we are in the running to buy a good player they will not come because we pay the worst wages in the prem.We must have missed out on half a doz players who looked like coming only for us to be trumped by other clubs salary offers.So really if we come back up something has to change regarding the cash we pay players and we need mega bucks to build a much bigger squad with players who are capable of stepping up to the plate when asked to.Unfortunately I can not see us being in that position with out a rich sugar Daddy coming in ,we just are not big enough .It's not uniteds fault it is just the way the Prem has developed over a few years with the big clubs paying silly money for box standard players.Some like Chelsea could be accused of hoarding players when they are seen to loan out nearly 40 players making it impossible for clubs of our size ever getting a foot hold in the prem unless of course they have a billionaire on the board. Also the increase of subs on the bench is another point which favours the big boys ,it allows them to change the whole team in the middle of a game with yet other top quality internationals who could play a totally different system to what they started the match with unlike us who have to fill the bench with boys.
