Hes absolutely correct and I love it that he's come out and said it. You can not fault his honesty, as much as he has passed me off this season with selections and subs there is no better person to bring us back and I don't see anybody else doing it. BUT we do need some shake up in our recruitment department.

Watch his face when he says "maybe his decision to leave Sheffield was a good one" (Che Adams). I really hope Wilder hasn't had enough.

There is one major problem with what Wilder says and it effects everyone in life.

"We have to be at our best. The best players have to be playing to the best of their ability to be able to make it a tight affair or get a result."

That is bollocks because it is impossible to achieve consistently. If your team be they footballers, sales team, air force pilots - whatever you'll get burn out. You should be working about 80% of capacity so that you can step up to 100%. Working at 100% all the time is totally unrealistic.

In reality suggests a team over -promoted (ie too soon). Probably true, but hey we made a damn good fist of it in the first year!

I’d say Lundstrum, Moose, Rodwell and possibly Robinson need to go to make space for a couple of midfielders and a couple of defenders.

Foderingham
Verrips
Rodwell
Robinson
Ampadu (exp.loan)
Jagielka (coach)
Lowe
Lundstram
Moose

Add to that Berge will probably get sold. Also if we insist 3-5-2 let's not get too sentimental about Oli Burke because he's a winger at best.

Bring in Regan Slater, Rhys N-D & maybe Jake Eastwood into the squad.

Sign 2 x CB, 2 x CM, 1 x CAM (if Freeman goes) and perhaps another striker.

I would say for our 'system' to work everyone has to be playing at their best for the full 90. Danger of only playing 3 in midfield is if one of them is off the game the whole midfield becomes stretched and overrun.

Playing a more orthodox 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 can sometimes afford a player to be sub par on the day but still have an overall decent team performance

Can't the club go for a midweek break to recharge some of the players batteries? I'm thinking of the Australian outback, complete with no water, no compass or map, and a swim or two through crocodile infested waters needed.

Forgot to mention only the 4 you mentioned are 'allowed' to go.

He looks and sounds like a broken man. I just hope that the mood of despair and lack of hope doesn’t mean that there will be an exodus at the end of the season. We all know who we want out but agents will be more than happy to seize the opportunity to earn a fat commission on transfers if everyone is thoroughly miserable. It must be bloody depressing to be around this squad at the moment.

With Wilder you always felt after a blip he would sort it out out take absolutely no nonsense. This season has blown that to shreds though. Nobody believes that anymore. The results have been absolutely atrocious and today sums up a shocking season. Southampton were on a dreadful run, low on confidence and in desperate need of a win. Seasons past that was red rag to a bull.

There's little point sitting here saying he needs to clear out. He assembled the squad. It's his team. Very few clubs would have put up with these results.

If we get off to a shakey start next season the fans will turn quicker than that, and that'll be another season down the pan.

Pointless getting rid of CE now. To my mind he could have justifiably found himself getting the sack earlier this season after the worst start in PL history and he could have had no complaints.

But following the non backing by the board in January, I think its unfair now to sack Wilder and we need to give him the summer to put things right.

He knows what's gone off, who he needs to ship out, and he will have learnt a lot this season. Let him put that learning to our benefit and give him the summer to reflect and sort it. If the board back him in the summer I'm confident that we could have a very good season next year (and yes promotion would be attainable if we do it right) and I think we would be stronger for it. If we were to get back, lessons would have been learnt.

Stick with Wilder.

What a season that was....watched a few games back to see difference between this one and poles apart some of the football we
played was truly outstanding; fast, fluid, technically excellent and often creating several big chances every game. It was like waiting for Christmas Day every match....and for those memories it has to be CWAK to start next season but they should be under no illusion come Xmas if we are not in playoff positions they are going to feel some serious heat!

In my opinion he gets 10 games at the start of next season. If were not in the top 2 then he gets sacked. Some may think thats harsh & like I say its only my opinion. But any credit he did have left has now been used up by picking Lundstram every fucking game.

The positive in this statement may be that those who have'nt given a S**t all year, may think that they need to make an effort, or face League 2 next seaon

Not for me. He either starts with a clean slate or he doesn't start at all. Micro managing mini targets will only end badly.

Our system is a bit like moneyball. We've not signed the best players but players who can do one (or maybe two) thing(s) very well. Like a machine. If everything is working 100% then the machine is working 150%. We've been lucky in the fact he's been able to field a largely settled side for two years. When we replace one of the cogs in the machine with an inferior product, then the overall efficiency is less, but that system has a fair bit of slack in it. However, remove too many and then the efficiency levels drops rapidly.

That's why most of our players, in my opinion, aren't worth anywhere near what some people think. Outside of our system they are still good in a couple of areas but overall relatively weak compared to other PL players.
