I agree. But after a lifetime of not playing / thinking that way, how do we know he’s even got the ability to get much better at it?See, I think so many of his issues are to do with him not having the time to think. He only has one primary mode - receive ball, head down, aim for the big white rectangle. If he could find a way to give himself a moment of clarity when in decisive moments, he could become an assist king. Thats where he needs to change. He needs to stop only seeing his roll as a goal scorer and realise one of, if not the greatest asset is letting other people score with the space and situations he creates.
He doesn’t seem to have the basics, unfortunately.
