The thoughts of a few Aston Villa fans are the last thing I will worry about. I'm quite indifferent to Villa actually just another set of cheating cunts who play in Claret & Blue who should have been relegated last season.

Thanks, I hope you guys get a bit of good fortune as this year has been crap, it would be nice if CW can turn things around and bring you straight back up next season so he can obliterate this season from his legacy and quite right go down as one of the best ever managers of Sheffield United
No hatred from me mate. The turnaround in your position has been remarkable. I think the biggest issue everyone has is that when Leeds were awarded a clear “non-goal” against you, Bielsa ordered his team to let you stroll an equalizer in. If Smith had shown the same class when we were robbed by the most ludicrous decision since Lampards disallowed goal in the 2010 WC vs Germany, everyone would feel a bit more relaxed about where Villa are now.

Smith ain't got no class unlike Bielsa, villa are fraudulently occupying a place at the top table .Hopefully we will get a little bit of revenge and give them a bloody nose tonight .
COME ON YOU RED AND WHITE WIZARDS

Villa:

  • Think they are better than they are.
  • Got away with survival last season.
  • Got away with a win earlier in the season, when we more than matched them with 10 men.
  • Are from the country's scruffiest city.
  • Think they are better than they are.
We think we are God's chosen few. Even atheists like me believe. What's not to like?

our first game of the season. We weren't purring. You missed a pen. not sure how we got away with it.

  • Are from the country's scruffiest city.

Go on, admit it, you've never been have you?

Once upon a time, Aston was a bigger settlement than Birmingham. Thirty odd years ago I might have agreed to some extent, but the transformation of Birmingham city centre in the last 20 years has been remarkable. It is a great place to visit. However, having lived in both cities for over 20 years each I have no hesitation saying that if I was to return to England, it would be to Sheffield, best place I’ve ever lived absolutely love the city apart from a ground to the North alongside the A61.

To keep this on football; as for the ghost goal, there’s no way of knowing what results after that would have been so, yes it helped keep them up, but not exclusively.

Yes, we are shit. Even Aston Villa fans have superiority over us, a team who undeservedly stayed up last season. That's how poor we are.

We won't score, they'll score 1 or more. We'll lose.

It's not even fun to watch anymore, but I probably will and then wonder why I did.

Please let this season end quickly.

Woaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I can take just about anything but that's a step too far. We may be further south than you but we are most definitely not southerners.
Deffo Southern.
I've never headed north to get to your place. And you all hold your little finger out whilst drinking tea/coffee. Southern.

Thanks Roy, seems a fair percentage believe United could pose a problem for Villa.
Maybe they have seen very little of their opponents for today.
I don't see a Blades victory, but with a fair wind there may be a point on offer. Here's hoping.

From Leeds, I've never headed north to get to Sheffield, does that make you southern wankers?

I think scruffy is a bit unfair.

In my experience, an absolute bastard to navigate around. On the times I've visited my daughter who lives down there my Sat Nav tens to develop a mind of it's own and decide that actually, it's just going to put me anywhere except where I need to be.

To be honest I cant find much to get angry about, if I were them I'd be disappointed if they didn't get a good result against the bottom club, we are indeed crap, results, statistics, league positions don't lie, we don't get hammered, usually, we do lack quality, we do have an ineffectual front line and midfield, we dont score much. So in conclusion, however painful it is to read week in week out in Roy's view from, I cant disagree or get angry about any of the comments.
Thanks Roy, even though throughout this season your posts have brought nothing but despair.

Hi from a Villa fan that drops into this blog on occasion. I really don't understand this concept of 'hate' between football fans. A hatred for people you don't know. A fairly sad way for society to be. Is the joy of football not gained from having rivalry and enjoying banter with mates that support other teams?

It's just natural animalistic tribal shit that's ingrained in human males. Now fuck off back to your own forum before i bite ya grrrrrrrr!

Villa are a lucky lucky team. Lucky to not go bust, lucky to get promoted and lucky to stay up.

Hope we give them a bloody nose.
Definitely lucky to not go bust or more realistically lucky to get 'good' owners. With stadium and assets, 54m is a good price for an investor and someone would have acquired the club, even if it was just to asset strip. But we were lucky with the timing of the takeover as a few days later and administration would have led to a points deduction. As regards lucky to get promoted, I am not sure I can see why. We had our best player out injured for about 3 months, we changed manager and got some quality defenders in during the Jan transfer window. We won 10 games on the spin that season and were by far the form team coming into the playoffs. We played Derby in the final and had beaten them 3-0 and 4-0 in our 2 league games. Lucky with circumstances that led to us staying up but we reacted very well to Covid lockdown and came back a better team.
Staying up. We made the most of the situation that was presented to us and got the points necessary. It helped that Watford liked to sack managers too frequently and Bournemouth was going backwards and had inhouse problems with King and Wilson wanting to leave. It is up to teams to make the most of each situation. Did Blades not make the most of Leeds going into reverse gear when u got promoted? Was that Blades were lucky to be promoted or was it that The Blades just managed the run into the league better than Leeds did?

I think it's pretty fair to say that as much as we did well to get into that position, Leeds very much snatched defeat from the jaws of victory too

Yes, they did a bit but I wouldn't take that away from the achievement. Over the course of the season, I think that Sheffield United was the better team and deserved it. Brentford last season was even worse. They played 4 games of football at the end of last season and a win in any of the 4 games would have given them PL football. It was even more surprising as Brentford had played really well and consistently won games during the second half of the season. I think they will feel a little hard done by. I would like to see them go up this time.
