Where would this season's Blades come in this seasons Championship?

I reckon the current the top 4 are better than us by a fair bit actually...

and I think we're marginally better than Reading and Cardiff. Outside of the top 6, i also feel Bournemouth are better but are having management issues.

It is a little worrying if our team this season would struggle.... what is it gonna look like next with departures? Thoughts? are we actually that bad or am i a slasher?
 



I'd say about 10th the way things are. The top four are simply better than us. Teams like Cardiff and Boro would be more industrious than us and teams like Barnsley and Reading are having good seasons like they sometimes do.

The team we currently have fit would be lower mid table. A fully fit squad we'd probably be top 6 or at least challenging.

Huge Summer for us. I certainly don't think we are currently in a position to go straight back up but we have a decent base to build from .
 
No fans in the ground so difficult to say. Could be top, might struggle. I doubt we would be relegated if fans were in the ground and I would expect some teams are currently benefitting. Would West Ham be doing so well, or Villa?
 
For me it depends on which version of this years team you're referring to?

If you took this years squad before a ball was kicked and stuck it in this years Championship then I'd wager we'd probably be promoted as champions.

If you're talking about our squad at this very minute with all the injuries and loss of confidence then we'd struggle in mid table IMHO.

The top four are really poor this year. Norwich are a long way of the side they were last year The rest are abysmal.
 
Think this current team would finish outside the top 6...probably just above mid table.
However if this team was prepared properly....had a proper pre-season. Had O’Connell in the team....with hardly any injuries.

Pretty confident we’d win the league.

Thats the main positive.
Wilder always makes sure all his teams are so well drilled....they play to a system..so every player knows exactly what to do...without thinking.
He‘s not had the time to prepare this season....so next season in theory we should be far better....and far fitter.
The negative is a lack of confidence...so we need to get off to a good start....then confidence will bounce back.
McBurnie and Brewster should take the championship by storm next season....the key to our success will be down to how these 2 perform.
The other key relates to our owner....which players does he sell to balance the books or does he take a risk and keep our best players.
 
Top 10 easily. Maybe top 6 without too much drama.

That's assuming Brewster and McBurnie have any decent chances, and assuming we'd have more possession and be more positive in games.

Hate to admit it but they also possess a great squad filled with naturally talented players, Emi, Cantwell, Krul, Aarons... all decent PL players capable of changing games... Pukki's not half bad either

Our best players are our back 3, Fleck (John not Jimmy), Berge, Didzy and Bogle ... and only a few individuals seem able to turn games on their head by creating their own chances, maybe that will change in the context of a lower league though

We would be bottom half with the current injury situation.

If get people back fit we could challenge for the play offs. But We don’t have the creativity to go straight back up so that needs rectifying in the summer or we won’t score enough goals

Completely agree. We’ve recruited so poorly in the premiership, however Wilder was shrewd in the championship last time. Hopefully with a decent budget boosted by the sale of Berge we should be able to build a good squad.

We got promoted with pretty much the same team as we have now. Out with Hogan, Madine, Washington, Duffy, Coutts, Dowell, Lafferty and Freeman. In with McBurnie, Brewster, Moose, Berge, Osbourne, Bogle and Lowe. You don't think we are even better equipped than last time?

I do miss the Duffman tho :(
 
Easy Top 4.
Watched Brentford last night against Wednesday while they didn't have to break sweat to beat Wednesday they didn't look that impressive, infact Wednesday had more of the ball but just don't have any goals in them.

Who i have seen recently and pretty confident we would beat them all, also not forgetting Bristol City who although we struggled a bit against they never actually looked like scoring against us.

Thee "same team ' is part of the problem. Messrs Sharp,McGoldrick,Basham can be classed as back up only, Stevens is not a youngster any more and is back up, Norwood is woefully out of form and maybe not athletic enough to cope anymore, Lundstram is leaving. We don't know if JOC will come back the same player as before. I think Berge will be sold to raise funds. We need upgrades on all these( with the exception of JOC if he is OK) before the start of next season if possible or we could end up being mid table at best.
 
Mid table at best. Big season coming up, it could go either way. A lot depends on recruitment and I can’t see Wilder being given much cash to spend to sort it out. Also it will depend on him realising that his team need to score goals now and again. I’m not expecting a return to the top flight for another 12-13 years as appears normal for us.
 
It is a different game in the Championship The ball is turned over much more The best teams are those that win it back high up the pitch as they create chances before giving the ball away. The worse teams are those that give it away in their defensive third or resort to hoof ball. I think a high pressing style that we are capable of with a fit squad would be top 10 at least It then depends how the team plays when coming up against better sides. We have mainly given goals away through individual mistakes, If we cut those out then we would be top 6 at least. But at the moment i would just be happy with seeing us win a few games, be more positive and score some goals.
 



First choice 11 injury free would piss it ... think the 11 we playing with now would be top half , how many of those teams would be only losing Premier league games by the single goal margins ?
Brentford were in a poor run upto last night and are still second !
