Do you think Man City fans believed they would be multiple premier league champions when they were in league one? I don’t need you to answer that I know the answer. The reason the likes of Man City and Chelsea are in the position they are in is down to one reason and that is major investment. This manager you absolutely love to slate (funny how you never messaged on here when we were doing well) has put this club on a platform we could have only dreamed of 5 years ago. I’m not sure where you were 5 years ago but this club was dead, the fan base had given up and turned on the club. Then along came Chris Wilder who told us all he would get this club back and he did it.
We never had time or the funds to build a premier league squad but by god we are in a unbelievable position financially from were we were. I’m sure if we start well next year you will crawl back to we’re you came from before the slump

Plenty of clubs with smaller attendances than us have billionaire owners. A few examples off the top of my head: Palace, WBA, Bristol City, Stoke, Fulham. Even the Dingles have an owner worth £9 billion!

By showing ambition I assume he means he wants shut of the manager and employ someone who’s managed in the champions league. Then I imagine he wants us to remove the wage structure sign players on 100k plus a week. I’m sure all these players would walk over hot coals to come and sign for us so that’s not an issue either. It’s all so easy to become one of the elite clubs in this country.
Now ask fans of clubs like Portsmouth, Stoke, Forrest, Wednesday, Derby, Bolton, Wigan etc how throwing a shit load of money at players wages had gone for them.

I quite enjoy my trips into town on a Saturday morning. Usually as I walk up Fargate there are some poor unfortunates settling their differences. I'm pretty sure they aren't strictly following Queensbury rules though.........

But surely ambition is relative. We are talking economies of scale but the principle is the same. I could show "ambition" by buying a brand new car, but then I wouldn't be able to afford my mortgage and bills, eventually having to sell everything.

My point is, expenditure has to be sustainable. It's as simple as that really.

Wigan and Portsmouth both won the FA Cup. Stoke spent years in the PL. Most of the clubs you mention are likely to be in the same division as us next season. Wigan are a small club and were bound to sink eventually. Bolton have fcked it up - I’ll give you that.
