Why can't people in Sheffield show more ambition? Same cloth cap mentality. Never changes. Not surprised Berge wants to leave. As a city we're light years behind Leeds and Manchester. And now Wilder confirms it by calling us a stepping stone club. My days. Unbelievable. Why don't we get rid of John Lewis while we're at it and put a flipping Wilkinsons and Primark then instead!! Says it all

Woooh a flagship Primark .... now you're talking. In fact, let's move the flagship Primark we already have from the Moor to John Lewis plot and build a flagship Poundland on the Moor -- oh hang on, we already have one of those too!

Sheffield, a city on the move!

Ambition - that thing that people throw about with other people’s money.

Yeh Wilder, Sheffield United, same mentality.
Because he's a fanatical Blade.
He's transformed our club.
In a very short timeframe hes catapulted us into the Premier League.
Things have not gone to plan this season.
We are establishing ourselves financially.
We'll get promoted next season.
Let him use some of the credit hes banked
Listen to him talk about going to Wrexham to watch the Blades in the cup with his mates.

This comes across as very snobbish.

Sheffield United’s heritage is very much a working mans club. No prawn sandwiches in sight. Please don’t change.

Would love us to think Leicester rather than think Burnley.
You find us the billionaire owners willing to throw hundreds of millions in and we can talk.
Also note that It took them 5 seasons of spending in the Championship to get to the Premier League. Currently we’ve had 2 season in that league under our current owner without the funding or the free upgraded stadia.
So even using that ridiculous example we’re ahead of schedule in our long term development.

He's kept that story to himself all these years.

Not surprised Berge wants to leave.
Where has he said this? When did he say this?

All you see from Berge is that he absolutely loves the club and the people of Sheffield. He will genuinely feel sad when his time comes to leave, but we have screwed up any hopes of holding onto him long term by getting relegated. Had we held our nerve in the summer and made the Europa League, we might be having a more successful season and be securing our long term, top flight status. We're not. Good players will ultimately leave.

Sander Berge has played in the Champions League and Europa League. He was on the radar of many of the top clubs in Europe but decided to join us because he had more chance of playing regularly to further his career. If anything, that speaks volumes about the man that he is. He could've joined Arsenal or Liverpool or whoever else was looking at him, but for what? He risks everything to maybe become another in a long list of reserve players destined to years of loans before ultimately being sold on as he never broke into the 1st team.

I guess his plan was - join us. Play regular Premier League football and adapt to the league. Then hopefully play regular european football WITH US!! but if not, he knows he's good enough to move on to a Leicester, Everton, Arsenal etc.

There's always a bigger fish in football. Real Madrid took Hazard and Ronaldo from Chelsea and Man Utd. The latter had to pay de Gea over £300k per week to prevent him following suit.

I agree with this. Add Liverpool to that list too. We have seen development over the past few years however, but Leeds and Manchester did their developments 10-12 years ago. Not sure how Sheffield United, the general public of Sheffield, or indeed Chris Wilder are to blame for any of this though?

Sorry, I'll reply later after I've walked the whippet, bought some lard from the shop on the way home and made sure the ferret is prepped for shoving down my chunky cords this afternoon...

I miss my outside toilet that much I've taken to just doing my business in the back garden. The Cat isn't too impressed, she thought she had got custody of the gravel bits.

She can either pay some bills or fuck off......................

I'll quite happily join in the discussion about how Chris Wilder is responsible for the travails of our transfer policy, thin squad, poor athletic development of certain players.. Maybe holding him responsible for the socio-economic development of Sheffield is a bit of a stretch...

It's not a big pharma conspiracy, or big business.

Covid is all Wilders fault. There is a direct correlation between the covid crisis and our drop in form.

On an almost unrelated subject, I've just realised I need to add tin foil to my big shop list this week.................

Covid is a Wednesday /Chansiri creation. They saw how well we were doing, so Chansiri nipped over to wuhan to meet his distant cousin and the rest as they say is history...
