After a successful manager we usually have a few false start managers before we get another good one.

Can anyone who wants Wilder out offer any suggestions for the next two or three false start managers and then place the cherry on top of the cake with manager who next succeeds please?

Warnock and Bassett both took over when we were struggling in the second division. By no means anywhere near the worst position we've ever got to.

Porterfield is the only one who took over when it would have been difficult to get much lower. He took us up two divisions and in every single season that he was in charge our league position improved. But he still got abused by sections of our alleged support who seemed to forget the "We'll take more care of you Porterfield, Porterfield" chants of the 4th division days!

Harsh on Clough- saved us from relegation, 2 cup semi finals and a playoff semi final
Blackwell played shit football but saved us from relegation and got us to the playoff final
Spackman- played great football. And had us in the play off position

Spackman does not belong on this list. A tragedy that was, not only in that we didn't see the full potential of his side, but also that his experience at The Lane looks like it put him off management altogether. Sad on both counts, he looked to have a lot to offer.

I'm definitely in the keep Chris Wilder but the fellow at Barnsley doing a great job. Turned them right round and watched a couple of times and play decent football.
But not ready to get rid of Wilder , let's see next season.

I remember the past where if we were looking for a manager we'd have just gone and got Brentford's or somebody's if he was doing well.

Shows the image this club has made for itself over the last 30 years that these managers would see it as a step down.

Wilder will eventually leave for becoming Blackwell Mark 2, and then we'll immediately give the job to Blackwell Mark 3.
