In my opinion Wilder is starting to create an us vs them mentality in terms of him and the fans.

This is very dangerous ground to be treading and ultimately not long after comes the old heave ho sacking.

Question is, why is Wilder doing this? He says players credit in the bank is running out but he is a bigger blade so is immortalized?

Is he doing it out of spite? No I don't think so.

Is he doing it to protect the players? No because he not immune to hitting out at them.

I just don't get it, he needs to man up. Not create a huge void between the fans and the club which is what he is doing right now.

God only knows what the prince is thinking right now!

What I don’t get is most of the fans are still with him. I am at least, I don’t want him out

we have accepted relegation. It’s been hard with injuries, poor signings, more injuries and no fans etc etc. Legitimate excuses for where we are.

why is he going down in such a small time manner though. Talking up Fulham, going there not trying to win.

Fucking Hell. go there get beat 5-3 or 4-2 or something but at least try to win, to score and to entertain. What does it matter - we are already down??? The result is irrelevant

I don’t give a shit if we lose but I do care if we don’t try and win. I care if we don’t have a touch in their box until we are behind and we have to start trying to do salvage something.

He’s completely gone back on the comments about us ‘punters’ being intelligent. All that is easy to say when it’s going well but this season he has started to bullshit us an awful lot.

We were fucking terrible tonight but to claim we deserved anything other than an absolute hammering is absolute lunacy.

Bizzarely he laid into the team away at Leicester last season after what had been an unbelievable season. Yes we didn’t play well that day but his interview that day was way over the top. On nights like tonight when players are chucking it in and he’s set us up to make absolutely no attempt to win the game, he’s straight on the defensive. I just cannot work it out, it’s completely disingenuous to suggest we were anything like being close to getting something from that game.

It is very strange it’s almost as if he thinks the criticism coming the teams way is from fair weather fans who have jumped on the bandwagon but there were still plenty of blades watching the shocking football under weir and Adkins.

Sheffield United manager has mental breakdown......shocker

I'm so surprised because I've never seen this happen before

What I will say could be a reason is that he’s genuinely hurting over how the team are playing and he’s just lashing out back at those who are lashing out at him. Is it professional? Will it achieve a positive outcome? No. However it could be a reason he’s engaging in what could well turn out to be self sabotaging behaviour.

You're probably right. He's built himself a throne and lapped up the praise for 4 years, but he's also made it very clear that he won't accept criticism in interviews. Seems the same from the fans. Who aren't fit to have an opinion, if it's not praising him unconditionally.
