Thank you Micky for being honest in the post match.

We've suffered managers who can't speak the truth post match, but finally we have a man that speaks his mind

To sum his comments up

- Reading were the better team, we got lucky
- Jordan was a tactical sub, he'll be disappointed, but doesn't care about individuals
- Boggy didn't get his chance because Cressy reckons he's a Centre Forward and he thought he'd let him prove himself
- Ward. Probably off. Micky rates him, but if he can't apply himself in training and in matches then we don't need people like that.
- The two new lads got in late, but thanks to Mick McCarthy for releasing Vokes
- Harewood is a target, asked Blackpool about him last week but they lost a player so Holloway didn't want to release him yet. Still looking at him

The only dubious one (and i've no reason to doubt Micky)
- Ched, out again, "i don't know what he eats"

Edit: Micky also said that Ertl wasn't a centre half, but appreciated him coming in and doing a job. I wonder where that leaves Nyron? Both Full back positions have overlooked him. Centre half too. Only one place for him to go at the end of the season...

doesn't care about individuals................. great man management, that will build a great team spirit won't it?

Team game Stafford, team game, not about individuals, its about the team!

Perhaps now players like Jordan will start to think about their individual performances and step it up because there are players like Lowton ready to come in

Do you reckon he mean't players not pulling together as part of a team??

In response to Stafford's post!! Swiss beat me to it....

Agree it's a team game, but he's got to be careful not to piss off players that he's going to need between now and the end of the season. We're not exactly spoilt for choice player wise

Very honest interview, which I commend totally. But blimey, that was a depressing game of football for a Blade to watch. We offered nothing for awfully long periods.

We need a spark. In fact we needs lots of sparks. :(

We've got a big enough squad. What we don't have is enough quality players. Are any of our first team good enough to be treading on eggshells around them? I think not.

I'd be tempted to fuck 75% of the first team off and let the development lads step up to the plate.

True, but we need the players to get results, Britton and Ward obviously couldn't pull together for the team so got/ are getting shipped out. Others can go the same way if we have players to fill the gaps. Obviously tonight Lowton was the lad to step up. I reckon Jordan's lost his place now.

I was falling asleep tonight, seriously I'm not taking the piss. Proper eyes closed away with the fairies stuff. I think I actually dropped off 3 times in all. It was that riveting.

whilst he probably doesn't give a toss about individuals, it would have been better for adams just to say jordan was having an off night and it wasn't his night.

Or alternatively tell it like it is. Play shite - get subbed off. I'm sure he'll have a word with Jordan and he'll be under no illusions as to what is expected of him. I'm sure this was laid down to everyone when Micky arrived.

He sounded like a beaten man and unfortunately the team are performing in that image.

For info, Jordan looked utterly knackered tonight. That was my take. If I mistook it for a simple lack of effort then the guy needs shooting. He was miles off the pace.

To be fair to Jordan he was up against Kebe and we all knew it would be tough down that right side tonight.

Given Jordan and Lowton's performances, it's probably time for the Nozza to return.

But Lowton didn't step up! He was just as bad. He was dreadfully at fault for their goal. The lad is nowhere near the player some of you would like to think he is.

Sorry Pinchy. I can't see the games but it seems that you must have a scape goat. Is Lowton to be the one to take the place of Monty , in your not good enough posts? Please, would you, for the benefit of those who cannot get to the Lane, tell us what the positives are(if any) from your point of view?.

Boggy didn't get his chance because Cressy reckons he's a Centre Forward and he thought he'd let him prove himself

Haven't heard the interview but if he's being honest then that is refreshing and to be applauded. However, the comment above seems a daft one. Cresswell has worked hard in patches since Adams arrived but has shown no quality whatsoever, he looks so easy to defend against. I'm sure Boggy reckons he's a centre forward as well, how about he gets a chance to prove himself?

It isn't just Adams because Speed was the same, but Cresswell seems to be a protected species - how often has he been withdrawn this season?

Maybe there's something more to the reluctance to give Boggy a game, it was certainly noticeable that none of the players ran to him when he scored and turned to milk the praise from his team mates, but I'm struggling to understand it at the moment.

Well said Sirius. I would think Lowton also offers more going forward and in a solid back four of Parrino-Collins-Lowry-Lowton I think we can build on the defensive performances.

Honest interview and fair play to him. I didn't understand the Boggy bit. What has Cresswell's opinion got to do with owt? And we brought in a Striker for Saturday yet were forced to play him last night? Why not Boggy?

He looks easily our best striker in the small patches he gets. There's clearly something not right.

As for the rest of the game - we're going down, aren't we?

UTB

Honesty? Do you reckon MA have Boggy a decent explanation to why an emergency loan was played infront of him, nevermind Cresswell.

note - I thought Vokes started off quite well

Sorry alco was on the phone when you posted and missed yours. Exactly that!

According to Adams' summing up on the O/S one of the reasons why Jordan was subbed was because he was on a yellow card and didn't want to risk him getting another.

How can Lowton be a "scapegoat" (i.e. someone who is unfairly blamed) when he played a big part in their goal? He should have done better.
I have called for Lowton to start all season BUT last night he wasn't great and I don't see what advantage there is in saying he was when he clearly wasn't. This could be (and I suspect it was) because he was played out of position and if it was, it's a lesson learned. However, if it turns out he isn't as good as his early signs suggested (and his lack of starts may indicate this) then I'll be dissapointed but we can't let sentiment cover up for sub standard performances from any player at the moment.

Coops, I think thereaction to the goal was more a case of hurry up and get the ball it's the last minute if the game instead of prancing around like a show pony in front of the kop ;) I don't think there was anything in no-one jumping on his back.

What MA actually said was that Boggy was given a start as centre forward against Ipswich (?) and Cresswell has been badgering him for a CF start since MA arrived at the club. In the interests of "fairness" he opted to give Cresswell his chance.

Fuck that. I understand where you're coming from Strafford and its a sensible argument all the same but bollocks to their feelings I say! They're paid enormous sums of money and to get it for what they're producing at the moment is criminal.

Micky may as well take the prickly approach with them because we'll either get a reaction or continue to get what we're getting at the moment, which is not a lot. It is indeed a team game and players have to understand that the manager is under the most pressure.

Give me 8k a week and I'll run myself ragged while Micky shouts at me and subs me off every game. For half that amount I'll do it with a big fucking smile on my face. They dont know they're born!

How on earth is it a left backs fault for a ball played straight through the center to a striker who has scored loads of goals? the fact that Lowton got anywhere near him should be commended. His inexperience in dealing at this level with that situation meant that Long got the better of a 50/50 ball.

Can't see how a revolving door policy on who plays up front one week to the next is going to help build any understanding , though I appreciate it's particularly difficult when there's no outstanding candidiate for the job. If the Harewood rumour is true it's fairly clear that he deosn't really fancy any of them.

Injuries not withstanding, it seems like a different combination every week (the loans aren't helping any either) but given we've no outstanding player who can turn a game on his own anymore it's got to be teamwork and synergy that digs us out - compare and contrast Readings movement off the ball to our own - so it's time we settled on something approaching a regular starting XI to try and play as a unit.

Yet Boggy has probably saved his job/credibility in the last 2 games
