We need to make more of a fuss..

..about the fact that the prince clearly doesn’t have the funds to take us from mid table championship resources to premier league level.
Got a feeling he’s just gonna pull out pants down and take all prize money for himself. I mean not backing wilder in January is frankly a disgrace- no ambition.

I’d bet the club has spent more £ under the Prince than in its entire history before that combined. 🤷‍♂️

We certainly need to increase our wage bill when we get back to the PL. We could have got better players by paying lower transfer fees but higher wages. As it is we overpaid in transfer fees for too many unproven players.

Jimmy you really are the archetypal "Click bait wanker "

Terrible wind up OP. He’s not Abramovich or Sheikh Mansour so will never compete with them. Only time will tell but he seems to be trying to build something sustainable and understands that it might take a few cracks at the PL to do so.

We’ve been in the PL at the worst possible time in recent history from a financial perspective so we need to look after the future.

He hasn’t got a barrel of money so has taken on debt for working capital but it’s either bank loans or directors loans so it makes little difference really.

As it stands we’re better with Abdullah than the pork are with Uncle Dejphon.

If you feel so strongly on this matter join in the discussion about being thrown to the wolves, I'm thinking of starting a new thread on the side of the Prince called dance's with wolves. But I can't be arsed

Increasing the wage bill doesnt guarantee success
I didn’t say it did but it certainly improves your chances of staying in the PL. The better players want bigger wages. I think with a couple of quality players in midfield and central defence we would have been fine this season but we can’t attract those players on the wages we pay.

amount of people I’ve triggered on here 😂 was just my opinion, I’m a blade like everyone else.
people don’t get how big our wage disparity is, we cannot offer big wages and it’s embarrassing.
Embarrassing would be saddling ourselves with an unsustainable wage bill in the Championship, like a certain other club not too far from BDTBL.

It still isnt a guarantee. We increased our wage bill during Kendall and Spackman years, also when Robson was our manager. We suffered long term.

The flippant response is, you could always chuck your own money in or take over. But I’m assuming you’re not a multimillionaire businessman, using his spare time to post about how poor the current owner is.

I’m all up for kicking up a fuss, but for whom will I be kicking up a fuss for ? who is offering to buy our current owner out and take over ?

In terms of this transfer window - who were you disappointed we didn’t sign ?

ALK capital were the last desirables, they seem to have taken Burnley from ‘well run’ to ‘debt ridden’ overnight.

I think you’ve just nailed it on the head, there’s no billion pound consortium wanting to take over, yet the Prince is overvaluing the club. Mike Ashley he is not. The OP is a fucking idiot basically

Don’t know if you know this....but the Prince has totally exceeded almost every Blades expectations regards ambition.

Remember when we came up....many predicted we’d spend 20 million per season max.
When the facts show we‘ve spent just over100 million in 2 seasons...he’s factually the most ambitious owner we‘ve ever had.
I’m also impressed that he’s shown loyalty to Wilder bu giving him plenty of time to turn things around,

The only lack of ambition relates to the wage structure but thst would be madness.
Imagine paying loads of players 50K a week.....then being relegated.
We‘d risk losing our club altogether....only a Pigfan would want us to spend more than we can afford...so we risk going out of business..

Double edged sword really

I agree that bringing in Foster, Wilson etc would have been low fee high wages option. Their experience would have helped, and add into those 2 personally I would have given Deeney a 12 month loan deal

Can’t see how we would have been in this position had those come in

However, we’re all against the “1 last payday” brigade

And knocking on £50-100k pw would have potentially caused a storm

Imagine the likes of Billy and Fleck looking on as Wilson strides in
“We took this club up, finished 9th, that dickhead got relegated and saunters in here on 100 bags, WTF”

Personally I would have had mainly younger players, but with one or two of the above to bring calmness on the pitch

How many of our lads have every been anywhere near a PL relegation battle?

It's not like we're the only club who'd like to be bought out by a cash-rich multi-billionaire. And it's not like every big takeover really has the best interest of the club at heart.

We could organise a protest to make the Prince richer but I have little faith in it increasing his net worth.

In spite of popular wisdom, opinions can be daft or even wrong. What do you think would result from us fans "kicking up a fuss" over the net worth of our owner would be? It doesn't make any sense.

The Prince is the poorest Chairman in the Premier League & he’ll be one of the poorest in the Championship, not sure how he thinks we can compete?

There seems to be a few on here with inside knowledge of the princes bank account . Clueless springs to mind

we’ll see come summer when we’ve sold berge, mousset and egan and we bring in a couple of freebie championship journeymen

Perhaps that’s where we’ve gone wrong - high fees / low wages have forced us to fish in the “potential” pond.

Callum Wilson and Ben Foster would have probably kept us up for a smaller outlay, I suspect.
A xenophobic recruitment policy has forced us to fish in the potential pond. Managed to afford Sander easily enough. Most leagues pay much lower wages that the PL and Championship.

I actually think that we’ve partially made the right decision this jan. There must be immense pressure to buy and the fees are always higher this time of year.

I don’t know what positions and targets that wilder had, but given the previous signings in the premier league, I would guess it was going to have to be young players with potential.

Dont mistake me, I think all of Wilders young signings have been with the right intentions, these players will all increase in value over the next couple of years.

However I don’t think that signing a player with potential now would help us right now.

We’d need a left sided centre half, a centre midfielder or perhaps a 20 goal striker. I don’t think that immediate impact player is available for us just now and I also don’t think that panicking would be right.

Wilder has made some fantastic acquisitions on paper and most are showing signs of progress, albeit slow. We still have a large number of signings from the last 18 months slowly making their mark, it’s a patient process

This season was always going to be transitional, I didn’t think we’d be so far off the pace, but perhaps bringing in younger players was a little soon, the old guard has kept us going recently and a mix of younger players like Ampadu, Bogle, Rammers is starting to have an impact...

Bringing in more new players wouldn’t have done much in my opinion, the ones we have need to continue the performances of the last few weeks. They have that breathing space rather than added competition and complexity of bedding new players i

Long way to go, it’s going to be tough, it’s going to be a time for all the players we have to play their part

Not sure I agree with this. If you consider that we have most of them for 3 to 4 years and there’s a chance that only 1 of those will be in the PL.

Ramsdale - might be worth £10m as a top end Championship keeper but I can’t remember the last time a Championship team spend a wedge on a keeper.

Berge - good chance he’ll go at a loss in the summer as he’s not proved himself to be a consistent PL player in the time he’s been with us.

Brewster and McBurnie - need a 15-20 goal season each in the Championship for them to be worth what we paid.

Mousset - too risky for most to pay a fee as he’s never fit.

The ones who could appreciate are:

Bogle (almost certainly) and Lowe (with some good Championship experience behind him).

The ones that will certainly have increased in value we can’t afford to let go of because they are integral to who we are:

JOC, Egan, Baldock, Fleck, Stevens

The others are too old and probably going for nothing or ending their careers with us.

GET TO FUCK.

It’s hard to take anyone seriously who feels the need to pointlessly introduce themselves for every post they make (other than to make it ‘their thing’). Conjuring up puerile, meaningless nicknames for players (‘Brewster the Rooster’, I mean ffs is this a kindergarten?) makes this post doubly pointless. Roll on primary schools returning. Maybe stegosaurus can post up some of his crayon drawings of dinosaurs and we can stick it on the virtual fridge with a magnet

Put it on mute, makes the whole experience much more enjoyable. Trust me 👍
